I like how they did the cross over steering link on it. I like that rod end.

Interesting...

Seems like a cool rig. Competition breeds innovation also.

Cool to see another option that actually looks pretty decent! Competition is a good thing, scaler world domination!

Right right . I've heard of many axial bearings coming apart under big brushless power .

Optimized designs have a very small tolerance to overloading.

I haven't roached many stock Axial bearings with brushless. I think it's mostly people that play in the mud/water a lot and the bearing dries out, then it screams high RPMs and dies.

Why has only one other person commented on how cool it is that there's realistic cross-over steering links?!

ive done it to a brand new set of bearings and gears. too much power, not enough common sense.

The ring and pinion must be tiny to fit in those axles. One piece ring and locker doesn't sound promising either. Lots of awesome stuff on this rig but those axles better be stronger than I'm expecting.

Yeah, that's definitely on my radar as well. I think this will be a truck for the brushed slow crawl guys primarily. I have serious doubts about the axles handling big power. The ring gear is retained by that diff cover which uses small screw it appears, unless I'm missing something on the instructions.

The adjustable wheelbase option of the CHASSIS is cool, but you still need new links! The link points at the chassis don't move... Oops. I missed that until it was pointed out to me!

Also, who said OK to the links using a long set screw and a spacer!

Just like any kit, it needs work. I think it looks like another valid option in the market though. Even the SCX, the standard to which all scale kits are measured, needs mods out of the box to be truly great.

Again, I must have one to try!

This looks AWESOME!!!

Finally someone is paying attention, I love how the axles are narrow enough that it has the tires and wheels under the body and it tucks the tires like a real 1:1 on 35s would.

Steering looks great, the grill is awesome, only thing ill critique is the sliders...I personally hate when they are done like that, just my opinion, but it always makes me think "how do they open the door?" Plus IMO, I think when the sliders are laid out more flat it helps pivot your against obstacles sometimes.

Looks really promising as it is though

Some inner fender wells, maybe pro-line will do a nice interior kit for it...endless possibilities

Axle ratio is under 2:1

At least that's what I get from the numbers I see from the ad. Not to mention looking at the manual, looks to be a 13t pinion and I can count 12 teeth drawn on the ring gear (too bad it's showing the back of the gear) which I am going to guess is 27t. Should still be an awesome scaler but the gear ratio is limiting in my opinion.

Still looking forward to fiddling with one.

man those thin axle tubes look amazing. and no lockouts on the rear. just scale tubes! and diff cover.

and lol at all the keyboard crawler axle failures on a rig thats not out yet.
i dont think this rig and big brushless power belong in the same thread personally.
you would not see this truck entering a U4, bouncer, or mega truck 1:1 events. we already have RCs that fit those markets.
i assume the axle widths are somewhere around TLT width.
although i know my TLT proline k5 doesnt tuck the tires. sticks out about 1/2" per side with 1.55s.

and i really like how its a KIT! went after us as the market, instead of the mass hobbyshop sales of the RTR kits.
very cool Vaterra....

very cool Vaterra....
they have listen to what we wanted!
narrow axles
cms
adjustable wheel base..
high turn radius!
scale blazer..(I didn't like the proline one to much)

I have wanted to build a sheriffs blazer like a model kit I had when I was a kid...FINALLY I can build one!

You have to run those rediculous axle trusses like the model has in the pic.

I just might have to thin out the stable and ditch a couple SCX10 rigs in lieu of an Ascender.
