They only have brake drums to fit SLW hubs...

I have the knuckles and brake rotors on my truck and it is an awesome upgrade for this great truck! (I painted the calipers red...but rest of the color is still brass) from my OnePlus Two |

Here's a great build thread with rotors painted differently than in this thread. I like them better painted silver/gray disk and then red calipers. Got A$$? pic hvy! |

Think this and Vaterra aluminum c-hubs, knuckles and rear axle bearing retainers are going to be my next upgrade. What kind of paint sticks to the brass best, Krylon spray or? |

Self etching primer spray then testors enamel paints is what I used. I'm only running the fronts. Rear is soon to be STRC lockouts with oversized bearings because the rear passenger bearing is starting to fail. |

Thanks, looking at paint now. Nice that the STRC rear lockouts use larger 5x11mm bearings instead of 5x10mm, but wish they had the mounting hole for Vaterra disk brakes. I stock up on bearings at Avid RC Bearings and Accessories for radio controlled vehicles, your one stop shop for RC bearings, RC wheels, RC accessories, RC springs, and much more. especially wheel/axle bearings like 5x10mm and 5x11mm, if I'm in there and they feel gritty, I just replace them...but bigger is better. |

Well from a personal driving preference I don't run weights in the rear, and if you want to talk scale I'm pretty sure the K5 should have drums in the rear. After several comps and around 15 hours total of rough driving the rear passenger bearing on mine is starting to fail so the beefier bearing choice is a what I'm going for. Now if someone made brass rear lockouts / drums with beefy bearings I'd be sold.

This truck already has about 60/40 F/R weight bias and I like a balanced truck that handles climbing and descending, therefore I would do front and rear weight since it's already at 60/40.
