I hate you.
Putting Curries on and that skin is going to be awesome.

Looks good, now go get that axle all scraped up...

actually im torn on the rock jocks...
the stock axle has waaay more clearence than the rock jocks..

i took them outside in my rockgarden yesterday for a test run...
the rear end hung up on everything!!

difference in diff's..stock and rock jock..

as you can see it hangs down a bit further than the stock axle.

it's the price you pay for being fashionable... lol.

sometimes it's better to look good and those curries look good.

i have to disagree. i think the stock axle looks better. that currie pumpkin is huge, it looks bigger than the wheels. how much heavier is the currie axle?

Im diggin the cut stock tires though.

Thanks. I should of looked back a page. Other than the lack of clearance, how was the performance with the extra weight back there?

it feels a lil more balanced..doesnt want to flip on a sharp turn at high speed as much with more weight in the rear.

had dinner with my grandparents lastnight..while i was waiting on
the mexican chicken to get done cooking..
i took it outside and ran it around their house..
rocky hillside/waterfall/a few rock piles i made up..

Also i removed the delrin skid.
removing the skid seemed to help it not getn hung up as much, just that lil edge hanging down seemed to grab everything.

i think im gonna grind down the lower section like a 1:1 D60..

more Vanquish goodies coming in today...

ill be on my ustream channel @noon dign in the Goodie box!!

did a spring swap on front shocks..

scx green spring and scx cups and traxxas tension spacers..
does a lot better than stock in the rocks now.

i can compress shocks and they rebound to where the arms sit level.

housing could use a bit more grinding on it...

And the other goodies i was waiting on..

Vp did a helluva job designing these wheels..4 screws and i can change tires....are you kidding me...

However..there was 1 problem with the rings on assembly..
seems it was a machining flaw and the screws wont fit down into the ring.

Chatted with Tom and Steve about it and new rings and a few missing screws will be on there way monday.

And they called me..

Thats customer service.

you will need to flip the front diff and trim a lil black tab off inside of diff housing so the ring gear can clear.

the bearing caps i had to just put on finger tight..
tightened down the ring/pinion wouldnt budge..

38/13 r/p is close to front ratio
rear links to the outside of link mounts on axle..
if you put them inside of link mounts your shocks will angle inward.

wide hexs on the rear with stock wheels gives you a lil narrower rear trackwidth than the front.

on the vp Ti links.. on the chassis end use the stock ball joint to keep the axle swing down to a minimum..it fits tighter.
using the revo ball joints the links slide around.
I had to grind some out of the bearing caps on the currie

ive been told you have to press the inner bearing into the pinion bearing spot but i had no luck getting the bearing in far enough to get a decent mesh. I assembled it and put the bearing caps on snugged and then used valve grinding compound on the ring gear/pinion and turned the pinion till the mesh was super smooth, tightened the caps down & repeat. finished with some light rubbing compound and cleaned, greased and tightened it all down.... good to go.
