I rebuilt this rig twice now and here's the final assembly and I'm really happy with it despite ditching the 2 spd trans which I honestly didn't use much anyway. Stuff used; MM-Pro ESC Tekin Pro-4 3300kv Castle BEC/output 7.4v Hitec HST-5990TG Robot servo/Torque oz.7.4V/417oz/.14 Powered with 3s Sky lipos 30C 2200mah, getting 40+ minute run times. Custom painted body with gold pearl under Fl orange and Dk purple pearl Custom interior with Stewie from Family Guy Custom roof panel topped off with silver Carbon Fiber decal 500K in front diff Beefed up rear drive shaft with alum and Styrene tube Painted stock rims with MTHEAD Delrin BL rings with "BARCO" Sniped tires for a more aggressive tread pattern, works very well and star cut foams Spare tire carrier lowered 1/2" for way better COG Stock shocks with 45wt Losi oil F&R HotRacing aluminum Axial tranny with all steel gears, 32pitch E-revo spur Titanium front skid and trans mounting plate for extra strenth Spektrum RS300 RX Last edited by BONDONUTZ; 05-01-2013 at 07:10 PM. | ||||

| Re: Bondo's Hammer Yeah I have a copy of that...a Yihua 937 Digital. $50 and very pleased with it. Wish I could have made it out there Sunday, but I stripped a gear playing around the house. Tell me, before I spend a fortune chasing the right tire, what's the tire of choice for the Florida landscape?

Well thats gonna get you a different answer from everyone you ask. Dustin and few other guys in BARCO really like the PitBulls but IMO they're to soft because we don't really do a "lot" of rock crawling where they shine best. Were mostly hitting trails and fecking around in the loose stuff so a aggressive tread pattern would be a wise choice. My favorite tire is the Mickey Thompson Baja's and on a couple of my rigs I've cut the tire so it's even more aggressive for digging in the sandy stuff better. I don't think there's a wrong choice as long as it's a med/soft compound and you like the tread pattern. Look at some tires and LMK what you like and I'll advise the best I can. A example of snipping the tires is comparing the stock Twin Hammer tires to mine, they grab and sling a lot more material since I cut them. |

I do like the M/T baja claw TTC and the Interco IROK super swampers. They would look pretty cool on this set of motoworx wheels iv'e had my eye on.

I like the Irocs myself, a very handsome and versatile tire. Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk 2 |

Progress report, I have run 9 packs through of all hard driving on all types of terrain and this tranny mod is the shiz ! The TH 2nd gear ratio is 2.7 and the axial trans is 2.6 so this perfect for me, was well worth the effort. Will try to take so video next run. |

What transmission did you use for the mod? I have a friend with a twin hammers that is simply mulching through trannys because of the poor design.

Hey Bondo, Where did you get the titanium skid plate? Looks awesome. Did the SCX10 tranny drop into place or was heavy modification required? |

@A7000X; I'm running the Hot Racing SCX10 aluminum tranny case with steel gear assembly, was a steal at $50.00. I had to cut and re-welded the front center shaft to make it work. I'm sure there's a drop axle that'll fit from some other model. I also had to re-drill a set of chassis mounting holes for the new trans, I wish the skid plate was one piece but shit happens. @Tbredon; I purchased the Titanium sheet vie ebay and made them myself, thx for the compliment.
