Calvin & I are looking locally as well.
1-We are curious.
2-His Venom ring gear is shot, so we need to do something.

Got a reply from Jason this morning, nows the time to get your thinking caps on and make some suggestions that we can take back to Venom to improve the Creeper.

Here is the reply I got:

"Hello Kurt,
It is good to hear from you again! It looks like your poll is getting some good feedback and people are indeed interested in seeing the Creeper continue to progress. I have not heard any update on the request I made as of now.
We have a new director of this department and what I will do is forward your email on to him for this to be reviewed. I think he would be likely to give us a good idea of whether or not this is something we could potentially see come to fruition.

Hey by the way I would love to see some pictures of your Creeper to check out your setup if you wouldn't mind? Also if you have any other suggestions for updates we should make to this kit please let me know.

Thank you again for your support Kurt, it is much appreciated!

Well, either venom does it or if a conversion locker is made ... it's a great idea .... I like the AX-10 gear coversion idea although it may require spme shimming to work right. Not sure if the housings are compatible, the bearings look similar, and the gears are roughly the same size. Whether or not he pinion/ring gear positioning will be similar enough though (but a shim kit could solve that). I know I like the venom axles pinion bearing retention better than the axial ... Frankenbooger kept spitting the outer pinion bearing on me ... something my Creeper never did.

Sheesh, I'm so far behind nowadays ... time to get workin'!

+1, not sure when they will show up, but I will check dimensions vs. stock Venom gears.
Specifically:
Pinion shaft OD
Pinion shaft length
Ring gear diameter
Ring gear thickness
Hardness of ring gear steel

I'm assuming I will need to do some work on the ring gear to get it to fit.

No, it's just that the parts may arrive while you are not home.
I would also like to see what everything looks like.

While I was working on the stock plastic diff housing and the JB welded spider gears, I got to thinking of a lump of plastic with the diff housing outer dimensions, but a pinned steel shaft through it's rotational axis with the drive ovals in it. Thus, it would be "one piece" for the locker/diff housing and allow a ring gear to be mounted to it with the bearings on each end to replace a lot of other parts.

I would use plastic for this to keep weight down, but the center steel insert would handle the loads from the axles.

Any thoughts Thomas??? (hope I didn't guess your next Creeper product).

I already have 2 good cad programs that I use...just make sure to save at least one copy of your drawings as .dxf format or .dwg format so standard cad programs can import the drawings.

The free version of sketchup won't save in a "friendly" format.
