Well I have a 2.4 ghz 2 channel radio in my slash but the antenna was damaged when I bought it. It only goes about 30 feet before it loses signal. I was thinking about buying the 2.4 ghz 4 channel radio but I wasn't sure if I could run both trucks on one radio like with the crystals or not.

I really like your build. I always wanted a Creeper to do this, but I don't have the patience.

It's a shame the Venom crawlers never got credit. I don't have any experience with them, but they had a bunch of cool ideas and they seemed like they could have been made to work really well. But that's an assumption without any factual basis.

Thank you for the kind words. Its my first custom truck build and its slowly coming together as money is available. I'm trying to take my time to make it look good and work the way I want it to even though it may just seem I'm throwing random parts here and there haha.

I made my body mounts today. I used 22 gauge sheet metal and some stick on Velcro. I ain't sure if it'll work or not but the idea sounded good.

I got my esc in the mail yesterday. Its a hsp 320a speed control that I got for $8. Its suppose to be 2s capable but if not it was only $8 lol. My creeper should be finished soon. I have to make a mounting plate for my esc and rx, solder new plug on my esc and a new antenna wire on my rx, then paint the body and have the exo-cage.

I had a day off from work today so I decided I'd throw some color on the truck. I couldn't find a "rust" color paint so I just went with copper. I roughed up the outside of the truck with some 380 fine grit. I think it looks pretty good for being my first spray job. I'm thinking about sanding the frame rails and painting them flat black also.

2.4 is not Crystal technology, that's for AM and FM radios. get you a GT3b or GT3c, out of the box they have what, 5 model memory meaning you can store 5 different configurations and be Bound to 5 different RX's and all you have to do is choose the model ( rig) you want to run from the menu (don't quote me in the 5 model memory in stock form, I know my hacked unit does like 64 or some insane number). 2.4 Ghz is digital technology and uses what is called spread spectrum channel jumping. You never have to worry about interference between two hand sets again. Watch the classifieds, I just bought my dad a hacked GT3b with 2 Rx's for $60 shipped. I suggest going with the GT3 series as the RX's are like 8 bucks for a 3 channel and I think the 6 channels are less then $20 plus you can later hack the handheld for a whole $25 giving you all the added memory, more channels and in depth channel mixing for stuff like dual ESCs and proportionate 4 wheel steering. Once you go 2.4 you will wonder how you ever RCed before.

I already have a 2.4 ghz radio for my slash and its awesome. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html I have been thinking about getting this radio. I don't think I'll actually use 6 channels but its only 3 bucks more then the 4 channel so why not get the extra channels.

I tested my creeper today but with ¼" of an antenna on the rx it wasn't very pleasant. However besides the horrible glitching it crawled pretty good. With the 107.91:1 final drive ratio it was really slow even with the 27t motor I have. I've been looking for .75:1 gears for my t-case but I can only find whole cases and not just replacement gears.

I'm gonna fix the antenna and get rid of the glitches. I just wanted to test it out so I put up with the glitching. I need to get shorter lower links for the front because the axle is tilted too far forward. The ones I have now are 4½" long and about ¼" longer then what I need.

Thanks for the input, I'll have to check into it. I'm soaking the truck body in brake fluid right now because I was going to paint a stripe down the sides of the body but the paint scaled as it dried. So I have to strip the whole truck and start fresh.

I stripped the spur gear in my creeper transmission the other day and decided to ditch it for a locked pede transmission for better gearing options and the slipper clutch. I plan on getting an AX/SCX10 transmission down the road for its compact size and after market support. I also had to make a longer drive shaft out of 2 pede axles gorilla glued together. Here's some pictures of my redneck engineuity, pun intended.

How did you strip the spur? Even with 3s and all my crazy driving I couldn't do it. Did you have the mesh set up correctly?

I have no idea how I did it but since only half the gear is smooth id say it wasn't lined up right. Lining up the gears is difficult when you can barely see them, which is another reason I ditched the creeper transmission and chose one that doesn't require a flashlight and peep hole to check gear mesh.

I also managed to strip the set screw hole on the end of the creeper shaft. The yoke turns inside of the shaft end and the set screw just keeps coming out.

Well I got new spur gear for my creeper transmission and put it back to stock form cause I'm going to sell my creeper and my slash and put the money into my 1:1. I've been eye balling some rims and tires for the last few weeks.
