it was great meeting you too. and thanks for the ideas to improve my buggy. looks like it will be many nights of couch crawling in my future. and even though I'm further south then most of the others, i would be glad to drop suggestions on the track/rock course. just think 1:1, and scale it down. my email is surfandcrawl@cox.net.

Uh, who was Rudezuk? I suck with names to begin with, and then throwing in user ID's just adds to my confusion.
Although, it was nice meeting everyone out there, so I'm sure that includes Rudezuk.

This is Shane, Zach's dad. I have been on Pirate 4x4 for years using the name rudezuk.

Here are a couple pics of 1:1 rigs I build and drive

Ah, ok, gotcha. Nice rigs! I hope one day to have the space and budget to build some kind of 1:1 rock buggy.
Riding down there with Jason, he filled me in a little on yalls history and back ground. I was a little confused about how someone living in Manassas is a name in crawling.

The AX10 kit arrived yesterday and so I have started the build. Was a little bummed when it came to building the shocks as there were 2 parts missing from the kit, part #AX80014(3). Fortunately I have some bits left over from Tamiya kits and found a temporary subsitute. This is where I left the building lastnight. Will continue on with it tonite, hope to have it complete by the weekend My biggest challenge is going to be the soldering, with the Nitro cars soldering isn't that common, hopefully I won't make a mess of it.

Once I've built the stock version I will then go back and do the CKRC upgrade as recommended (still waiting for those parts to come in)

Electronics for this are:

Integy V10 Rock Crawler Hand Wound Motor 55S
Mamba Max BL/Brushed ESC
Spektrum DX3.0 DSM 3CH

Will also be adding the Losi Rock Claws and the HPI Baja Buggy body.

Shane,
Any help you can provide with getting shirts at a good price, please provide. We need to get some made and some stickers.

Let us know some details and lets see what we can get done.

Nice 1:1 too!

Anyone else had problems with the Spur and Pinion gears during construction of the AX10?

Here's the issue:

The set screw will not go far enough in to prevent the screw from hitting the spur gear, I've tried flipping the pinion gear over but it still hits the spur gear. I can't leave it like that as there will be nothing left of the pinion gear.

I fixed this by just putting some extra washers on the spur gear.

I was going to say I did not have any problem with the stock setup. It was very close though.

Default GTG Dec. 29th or 30th

We would like to have a GTG on Dec. 29th (SAT.) or 30th (SUN).
Pony Pasture or Frederickburg??

Please post up which day and location is good for you and majority votes for that day and location wins.

Hey guys, hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! I've been so busy the past week and with the holidays I wasn't able to log on much. I wish I could make the GTG, but I'm booked for Saturday. Sunday is a maybe but I have lots of work to do on my rigs. Just got some aluminum c's, knuckles, upper links mounts, and straight axle adaptors for the comp rig and bent links and a 45T motor for the 1.9, plus I want to see how the wheel wideners look on it. I really need to get all that replaced so that I can test it out, just not enough time.

Oh yeah, RudeZuk, I emailed you about the shirts.

If you were closer to Norfolk I'd say bring a sixer and we could do it.
