Thanks for the pointer Jake! I tried to put a RR mount on it but there just isnt enough room to fit it all in and still have the 45/55 link bias. I have some .040" and .065" 7075 that I was going to use to make a Nabil style battery mount but instead of trying to get the battery plate and the motor positioned at the same time, I was going to bolt it to the small flat spot on the case on the motor side so I can easily service the case if needed. After spending hours prepping my XR I realized that the complicated assembly process is a huge time waste so this one is being designed with 5 minute disassembly and light weight as its main objective so there will be nothing on it that doesnt absolutely need to be there. I have the battery mount cut out of lexan already, I just need to transfer it to the aluminum and whip it out.
without knuckle weight and a battery the bias is in the middle of the two lower links, I think a strong front weight bias with a slightly front biased chassis location will get me the performance I'm after. 60/40 just didnt work with the XR, it almost seemed like a better performer with the 50/50 links I had on it in the very beginning but the weight location played a large part in that. Using what I learned from the XR and the differences these bergs have, I'm hoping it works better than the XR out of the gate.
