RC Superstore...
Corrected if I remember correctly where you ordered from.
RC Mart is in China or somethign, right? RC superstore in MN.
Yep. I'm bad like that. It's called O.L.D. :lmao:
Or as my mother says, CRS - can't remember shit.

I've yet to get the confirmation email from my purchase on ebay yesterday... starting to get a little nervous.

Which eBay store or seller? They were probably swamped yesterday with the 15% coupon.
I agree with Jato. You used D&D, right?, which is still a smaller start up, I think.
RCSuperstore shows having sold 20 kits yesterday. Ebay pays the difference on any coupons, I think, so sellers shouldn’t have any complaints.

Yes I used D and d sports cards and hobby shop. Storefront in St Mary Ohio
I almost used them when I purchased but went with RCSuperstore because of past service. However the d&d listing was also guaranteed 3/18 delivery so they should ship today or tomorrow. Are they in OH or PA? I can say I’ve ordered from them a few times will no issue but I can’t say how long it took to ship.

Saint marys PA you're right, and I just got the shipping email "thumbsup"
Yup, me too. "thumbsup"
Not sure what I'm going to do with 3 TRX-4's, but it'll be fun one way or another. Never thought I'd be building a Traxxas kit. Times are a changing!
Hah. RCSuperstore has the price on their remaining sport kits listed at $320 on eBay. That is exactly 15% markup. Looks like the coupon saw some use yesterday.

Never heard of D&D. I'll have to keep them in mind since they're just on the other side of PA.
Ha! I also will have three, although one is a Bronco slider chassis I bought last year, but still haven’t built.I’m stoked about the entire kit! I think it’s going be the main buzz this season.
I started to purchase their last stock of the kit, and right before confirming the purchase I got notification that the price has been raised. Forget that! I canceled it and purchased from a non-RC shop that had plenty of stock, and even got an additional discount.
The Holmes TrailMaster is an inexpensive 550 motor.
I really like the SSD portal weights on my Bronco. They won't be going on my Sport at first because I want to test stock performance.
OD/UD gears from Traxxas are a good option for crawling as well.
This is a motor I've been interested in trying myself. Recently, an indoor crawling trail opened in our area and I'm thinking of building my Sport to run there. It's a very technical course and the top speed is probably only 1-2 mph tops (actually barely crawl speed most of the time). I figure it'd be smart to build the truck for this kind of action since I already have two other 2-speed TRXs for outside trail duty.
What do you guys suggest for a motor? I was thinking of trying the 27T version of this Trailmaster 550. What about gearing? I was thinking of picking up a 45T spur but I'm unsure about the pinion.
I was also considering the OD/UD gears since I only plan to run the truck on that course. Is it the OD gears that go in the front?
Of course, any other suggestions would also be gladly accepted. ;-)
27T will definitely slow it down. You can get the spur gear and pinion from the 2 speed 45T/11T as well. And you can go lower with the pinion if needed.
OD goes in the front and UD goes in the rear. You can do both or one of the other. For what it sounds like you're doing I'd install both. That will help climbing as well as turning.
Does the Sport Kit include shock oil? If not, does anybody know what weight the Bronco came with?
Edit: Bronco comes with 30W. Sport RTR comes with 20W.
I just looked and there's a bottle of shock oil in with the shocks. It doesn't say what weight though (but it looks like you already figured it out).
Silly question: Should I buy the Traxxas 45T spur gear or does it matter what brand? As long as it's 32 pitch any spur gear would work, right?
I was digging through my 'extras' collection and came across a new HW WP1080 ESC plus an older but still new Holmes SHV500 servo. I think I shelved the servo because people were reporting issues with them. Think it'll be good to try on this kit?
If the Trailmaster 550 27T is a good choice for an ultra slow crawler then I'm going to order one up. Thanks for the help. "thumbsup"
