Looks killer, +2 on the love of the flathead.
Wasn't '53 the last year for the flathead?
'54 was actually the last year of the flathead production so somebody obviously put the motor in themselves.

Because on rat's like that it's not about the paint job. It's about what it represents. To most guys, not all, it would be like taking one the first rifles made and re-bluingCool so far. But, why does everyone stop when the car they are building is 75% there. Smooth it up and put some paint on it. I am not saying a 20 color job with flames, skulls and pinstripes. Just get it in paint. The rusty POS look is just not all that anymore.

it, putting a new stock on it, ect.... instead of helping the gun you devalued it. But it's not about value with that kind of build, it's a life style, who you are, America, blood-sweat-tears, making something out of nothing! It's like looking at that 90 year old guy and saying "Man, I bet he has some stories!"

It's getting paint only in hopes people will refer to it as a "rat rod" less often.
Clean it up and flat black it. The rat rod thing is getting played out. I love the traditional look you got going there.
Is that an old metal-flake Superior steering wheel under the tape?
btw, flatheads were built up to 1989 under license by/for the Belgian military. Kind of a mish-mash of parts but they're relatively fresh parts.
Good move putting flathead in there. A SBC only belongs as a boat anchor.

If you ask me, flat black is played out, too :?
looks awsome"thumbsup"
here is one of my good friends that he built from ground up.
it even had about 10-15 bullet holes and another 8-10 shot gun blasts when he pulled it out of the desert.
he going to pull out that motor and put a flat head in it so he can cruise it around.this motors to radical for screwing off so it makes it not even fun to drive.
So who did the work? If I would have known you were looking I could have suggested a couple builders in the area.
Wow it's great in a old school way I like it and look forward to seeing the next progress update. Will you have it finished for upcoming hot] rod season?
