Associated LRP Quantum Super Reverse ESC, is it a good speed control?

Product: Associated LRP Quantum Super Reverse ESC (#LRP8420)

Basically, I have two main questions, but I would like as much information as you guys can or want to provide...thanks in advance!

[1] In general, is this a good ESC? Maybe for a 1/10 4WD EP Buggy?
[2] Would this ESC work as a crawling ESC? Maybe for a beginner RTR?

The reason I ask is because I might possibly be able to get a bunch of them NIB for an extremely low price!

1) It will be perfect for the buggy
2) It may not do well in a crawler because it goes into reverse immediately, if I remember correctly. I could be wrong, of course.

why is going into reverse immediately a bad thing?

I would think it would be a decent to good scaler esc.

I have not used that exact esc but most of the older reversing esc's drag brake is weak, and you may have to "double tap" it to go into reverse. I think the other poster meant it would not go into reverse immediately.

I have one on an axil crawler It does'nt have a ajustable drag brake. It works but it rolls on the down hill and you must use the brake.

EMF Brake

Too bad LRP did away with what they called "EMF Braking", on this model.

EMF braking, use the first half of reverse trigger/stick travel to apply brakes, and the last half of the travel for reverse.

Would work a little better in a crawler.
