EP's DNA SSS Axial

That thing is dope. Since you are thinking about a dig, would you go with the DNA and stick with aluminum internals? Or try something theoreticaly even lighter, like the ERitex unit?

Haven't settled on which one to get yet actually.

I'd probably go for the steel internals to be more beefed out if I went with the DNA. But I'm very interested in the Eritex dig, but I feel the need to wait to see how they do in the public's hands.

Missed ya there buddy! Sorry. 8)

How hot does it run, and are you still running a 2 cell lipo?

Warm for sure, maybe even kind of hot. And yep still with a 2S lipo.

JRH's description on his page for the 454 says it'll run hot like/in the Cliff Climbers, so I figure it's normal.

At this point it's pretty much blended in with the truck like a good motor should. Good package.

I got a 500 coming now too, so I can compare em all.

I figured it would run on the warmer side(per JRH's notes), but for a strictly comp motor, that shouldn't be an issue. For a practice car, where you may run it for 4-6 or more hours straight, then it may require cooldown periods throughout the day. And with a 3cell, it would just make it warmer.

Good info"thumbsup"

Alright! Finally. I have not stopped driving this thing since I built it up. We just had a central Ohio comp and I freaking won. 8)

I love it when a no dig shafty shows them MOA girls what's up. "thumbsup"

The only change I made over the last few weeks was taking the stock Panther grey foams out of the front and going to the Panther memory foam. The fronts were looking way worn out and I was having good luck with the Panther memory foams in the back, so I tried em up front. They were actually a little bit too soft and collapsed on me twice, but everywhere else they worked great.

I believe I will be adding a couple of ounces to the front wheels finally for a more sure footed climber. Right now the front to rear wheel weight difference is only 2 ounces. Not very much at all.

Couple pics one of our guys got.

Nice job with the win "thumbsup" I cannot wait to go back to my roots. I just sold my berg and I think this is going to be the ticket.

Between you and Tanis; I am going to need your help to get this thing dialed in so I don't look an idiot at our next comp.

Very nice work EP. The shop is looking on"thumbsup"

Thanks guys, and an extra thanks to you two DNA guys. 8)

Holy crap!! You have laces in your shoes!! When did that start???? :ror:

One side of the elastic that holds the tongue in place ripped, so the laces had to go in. :-(

It's hard to be Run DMC with laces in the shoes. :ror:

Is your truck 4lbs with or without the wheels? I continue to break CVD's and might take the lightweight diet to see if it helps, if not i'm gonna go cut my stock dogbones for now lol.

Congrats on the win!

They look very interesting. Still trying to figure out how a digless rig would be able to compete locally. I want to try in the fall season, but not now.

WOW, I got alot to do then lol. Thanks

Yep! :ror:

Small Tekin FXR, small Outrage 800 mah 2 cell lipo, small Holmes Cobalt 454, no shocks, light delrin everything, on the light side delrin wheels, no dig...

Yeah I hear ya. Back in the beginning of 08 I ran no dig against my club's bigshots and won a couple, then switched out to a Berg and used dig every 3 inches, literally. I was so dependent on that damn dig! Ran that Berg for a year straight and did great with it.

Then lost interest pretty much.

I was reflecting back on the early days, and everyone claims to have a great time running their 1.9r without dig, then I saw the DNA SSS, and it's like, "Let's do this... again." I definitely have to take different lines, and different approaches than just hammer on everything like I did with my Berg, but I'm having a great time.

Yes, dig would help in some situations, and probably lower my reverse count. I imagine the high speed gears I have in front aren't really doing all that much.

We have some very capable drivers with very capable trucks in my area, so it's not easy, but I'm back to having fun, maybe even more than before because the truck is TOTALLY different in every way, shape, and form than anything I've ever ran before.

And it's cool. 8)
