Jim, Jane and Dan decided to go to Ricks house to ride some of his toys. After hitting some trails they came back to Ricks to help with his Jeep.
Discussing what they should do, they decided to send Jane on a beer run.
Rick then described what he wanted as far as shock hoops.
Jim went to work on redesigning the panhard rod setup.
Jim grabbed a TLT bracket and headed to the grinder.
Dan chopped off a piece of 1/8 rod stock and bent it to shape.
Dan marked where it needed to go on the chassis.
Jim then came strolling into the room with the bracket.
After test fitting it, he marked the position.
After seeing that they had parts ready for welding they decided it was time for tear down.
I helped them with the welding, and they were ready to go again.
Reassembly
Dan then decide to show a old time trick.
After stripping off a section of insulation he used it as a shock bushing. The new bushing provides far less binding.
Jim removed the old panhard setup.
And after few hours of work, they were done.
The suspension mainly uses droop to get it's flex.
Two tires worth of flex is good for one end of the Jeep. With the addition of the rear suspension we should make the four tire mark.
