Jeep Grand Cherokee (Rick's Build)

He's supposed to come to Ricks tonight to help with the shock hoops and coilovers. Rick might throw a party and get some work done."thumbsup"

Jim, Jane and Dan decided to go to Ricks house to ride some of his toys. After hitting some trails they came back to Ricks to help with his Jeep.

Discussing what they should do, they decided to send Jane on a beer run.

Rick then described what he wanted as far as shock hoops.

Jim went to work on redesigning the panhard rod setup.
IM000021-1.jpg

Jim grabbed a TLT bracket and headed to the grinder.
IM000023.jpg

Dan chopped off a piece of 1/8 rod stock and bent it to shape.

Dan marked where it needed to go on the chassis.

Jim then came strolling into the room with the bracket.

After test fitting it, he marked the position.
IM000031.jpg

After seeing that they had parts ready for welding they decided it was time for tear down.

I helped them with the welding, and they were ready to go again.

Reassembly
IM000044.jpg

Dan then decide to show a old time trick.

IM000048.jpg

After stripping off a section of insulation he used it as a shock bushing. The new bushing provides far less binding.

IM000053.jpg

Jim removed the old panhard setup.
IM000056.jpg

And after few hours of work, they were done.

The suspension mainly uses droop to get it's flex.
IM000073.jpg

Two tires worth of flex is good for one end of the Jeep. With the addition of the rear suspension we should make the four tire mark.

More later...

What happened to Jane in all of that? I thought she was pickin' up the beers!

Dan is Rick and Jim's old man.

I'm just loving all the builds :)

******EDIT******* That's what I get for taking my time on posts! All the posts above asked the same thing :(

Nice build Rick.
One question for Jim. What happend to Janes arm? Did she lose it working on jims truck?

 It's really wierd how the pics make it look as though she is armless. She is fine somehow the camera angles made it look as though something was wrong.
