Kaetwo's Tekin FX-R Review...

Weird. I even used winrar to open up the zip file just like Randy. I did skip all the steps to convert from text to zip because I got the e-mail on yahoo as a zip.

Same here. I have the beta software.

Installed on a machine that never had Hotwire before.

Windows XP Operating System and there is no NW setting in.

My screenshot looks exactly like "THAT1GUY"

My machine never had any other versions either.

Sounds good, Im just happy I wasnt the only one having issues, at least I know I'm not messing anything up, lol.

what is the big advantage of the hot wire connection. i can do the same thing manually , correct. or am i missing something.

Tekin, K2, Others,

Im already bent on buying fx-r 35T combo. My question is..
...Are the FXR 35T combo's in the market (Ask a friend to purchase for me in Michigan or in Storm hobbies) already tweaked? Ive read a lot are downloading updates to get a better performance esp for 35T motors. Coz i dont have plans of buying a hot wire connection in the near future.
I hope u can help")
Tnx!!!

The new software worked for me !! Too bad it didn't fix my DB problems

what DB problem? My drag brake failed completely and if it were'n for my lhs owner lookin' at it, i'd never seen that the hot wire said it was at zero...strange. he raised it and it's fine but it was weird in deed.

The hotwire offers a little more fine tunning. More then that is programmed into the buttons on the esc itself.

The new download worked. Thanks for your hard work Randy.

I'll pass the thanks along to our engineers! Download the new version from the site. This will have the NW setting for the FXR and is the most current version.

This IS different than what is/was emailed. This is NOT beta software.

does any one know if this down load includes the low speed take off fix for the 35 turn motord rigs?

New downloadable hotwire software via the website:

IT WORKS!!! I thought that I was crazy when I tried installing this on my other computer via the email update. I just couldn't get it to work right. Well I installed from the web page download tonight on my desktop and it actually works! HA FU vista I got something to work :flipoff:. Good luck guys. Love my fxr but comon these updates have got to be made a lil easier.

Ha you said it thoug. Vista is a royal pain the ars. They call it "security" but it's really "we just hid all the stuff from you" feature.

The largest issue is that everyone has a different version and there is very little consistency between them. I run Vista ultimate and actually use a "hidden" or "turned off" Administrator account that acts just like XP. I don't get prompted to "allow" any functions and if I wanted to delete anything I don't get asked "are you really sure you want to do that?" This profile also doesn't even have the "Virtrual Store" folder so when I want to update my hotwire I can simply uninstall it and re install the new one without deleting the hidden file OR restarting my computer.

Trust me, I've got my foot planted way up my Vista computers rear end!

It's more of a headache than anything...

Yes the 35x1 and FXR combo's are available. Here is a link to tower for example;

There are 3 reasons for the Hotwire.

1 - ESC Updates
2 - More finite tuning
3 - More options than what are available in hardware form

Keep in mind that the FXR is a professional grade ESC. This means that there are a tremendous amount of tunning options availble but it requires the Hotwire to tap into these options. If you want a plug and go ESC then the FXR works great out of the box. But if you want the full potential of this little gem, you need the Hotwire ;-)

Awsome! It seems like the final release seems to be working well for people. I had a few hickups wth Vista myself with the beta version but things smoothed out rather well in the final release. It's the nature of beta code and it's why Tekin released it to a small test group first, not to mention Vista is a bitty to get unsigned software to work properly. Okay Vista in general is a bitty
