Pinewood Derby

The 1st car of any kind that I buildt was a pinewood derby car, I was 7 in cub scouts. I did it all by myself, I did it for 4 years the 3rd year I won.
We lived in Cali. and there were a 100 cars at these events. The 1st year I didn't finish well but had a great time and was hooked. I worked on the next car all year and made the top 10, 3rd year I was the winner and the 4th year I made the top 10.
My Dad would never help me, but with ideas. I did all the work and use to think He should of helped me until I did well .Then I would brag to the other boys that I did it by myself. It made me way more proud on the win.

Thanks Dad."thumbsup"

Maybe next years I let him cut it out. He did do some of the filing and a lot of the sanding.

He is very crafty we go to Home Depot once a month for there free project. I am not aloud to help. He get pissed. :ror:

My dad for the 3 years I did it really made it more like Ricky's experience. Though sometimes I would come up with things I could not figure out how to do. He'd offer help but never really do it himself.

The only amazing part was being DQ'd my last year for adding rail wheels (too hold it in the center). Apparently not legal, but after the event was done they raced mine in an exhibition against the top 10 and I won every round due to its ability to hold perfect center.
