Time to starting cutting aluminum.. Started with the side panels for the center console and also came up with a base mount so to speak. |

So one mistake I made was I mounted the heater before I started doing the tranny tunnel/cover. I needed to lower it and ended up modifying the heater mounts to lower it down and I also plug welded the console base mount.

As I built the sides and face I also got them mounted to the base. This helped me set everything up to tack all 3 pieces together and then weld it up. As I built the pieces I also found where I wanted everything to mount.

So my original idea for my speakers was to build buckets as the base of my seats. That was how my toy was for years and it actually worked quite well by bouncing the sound off the dash. Well it just so happens I had "just" enough room to fit the speakers in the center console. I figure the passenger side speakers will rebound off the passenger side. All the switch's in the center console are are ones that I won't need to be flipping all the time since when I am belted in fully reaching them will be tough. I also did a cubby hole at the base. It angles down and there is a 3/4" lip so things should stay in there pretty well... |

So with the center done I now knew how far I had to slide the center back to remove it--with that I was able to figure out how far forward my shifter could be. It came with one of those plastic mounts but I hated it--so I made my own... It made it with a removable cover on the back side so I could access the shifter to plug in the reverse light switch.. |

Next was the switch pod. These are the switches I will be using all the time and the ones I will need to use when belted in. So its front/rear arb's, front rear winch's, engine ignition, starter and my volume knob ![]() |

So the shifter portion got welded to the tranny cover and the switch pod is removable.

So one thing I needed/wanted was a small storage area/arm rest. Well I had kinda pre planned something when I built the shifter and switch pod. I started with making this. |

I needed to add some support to the back of the storage area so I built this and made it boltable to the back of the tranny cover..

And here is how it looks wit the lid and and seats in place--fits nicely. I used a piano type hinge and a 1/2 turn latch. I was really happy in that I sat in the rig and felt where everything was and it all felt really nice.... |

Oh ya did I mention I REALLY like my music when wheeling. Well here is the next part I built. Yes you can fit a 10" sub in a tube chassis like this, lol. It was tricky to get all the measurements right on the money but I was running out of room and found a good place for the amps to fit. Its built with 1/8". Will it work--will have to see... |

And there it is installed. One thing that I made sure was that it did not sit higher than my arm rest so I would not have my elbo sliding back and smacking it... I also will build a couple small covers to sit over the amps to help keep crap off the tops of them, |

Rolled the rig out of the shop to clean and reboot and figured I would get a few pics on the interior....

Figured it was time to do some pedals in the rig and I started with the brakes. Now this thing will have dual 7/8 bore masters--one for the rear and one for the front. I won't be running any sort of hand brake for doing front digs--I am going to use my feet... |

So here is the mount I made. I also made the tops of the brake pedals. For some reason I have always had better luck starting with the nub for a pedal and build it from there. I am also really big on using 3/8" for the pedals. But in any case I got off to a good start.. |

So using cardboard I was able to build a template to get a good rough start and came up with the pedal arms...

Got the arms thrown in and was happy with what I was seeing so I burned the mount in.
