awsome build, I'm sure you'll make sure the bumpers are as cool as the rest of the build. During some of my builds I will go to the wrecking yards and look for damaged chrome pieces off the side of older vehicles, they are usually chrome plated or polished aluminum and are just wide enough to look like scale chrome bumpers and I just work the ends since the chrome length is usually to long. |

Thank you ugly duck, I've thought about what you described, a lot will depend on the shocks I have ordered, (Tamiya tractor truck shocks). There will be a few more crossmembers to help stiffen it up, I just haven't gotten to them yet. Quote:
@ rcdrew, thank you for your thoughts. What do you guys think.. ( after I took the pics and uploaded them, is when I noticed that the sorta stock bumper is updide down, oops) Or, how about an old tube bumper Last edited by bodean; 08-11-2010 at 10:03 AM. Reason: forgot some one

| Thanks karlos, thats what I'm thinking also, the more I look at them. Anyway, I've made a few changes, and I'll just let the pics tell the story. Most of it still in a state of "mock-up" I still haven't cut out the windows, I still want the strength of it for sanding on it. |

I've made a few changes, nothing major, just keeping it up to speed. Experimenting with gold or silver as a basecoat, (lots of gold left over from the Van) and I don't see much difference The grille is not perfect but from 5 ft away, who knows or cares. Under the hood And thats where I am tonight. |

Thanks for the kind words guys. I ordered some of Tamiya's Big Rigs shocks, and they are perfect for this build, they look about the right size. The flex is not bad at all |

Thanks fellers, I'm glad you like it so far. And the gold is just a base coat, I had plenty left over from my Van, plus it helps bring out the defective areas on the body. I installed the 3 spd tranny and a place to put the battery, and I have rough cut the side windows, see what you guys think. I ended up using a highlift tranny with an RC4WD Clocked Tranny Unit, instead of a big rig 3 spd and a killer T-case. |

WOW, just the side windows cut out makes that thing look sooo much better! Now this is one of my favorite homemade bodies and I'm a Dodge guy so that says alot...

@ shadowtrucker95, Thank you also @ FLB, Thank you, I was hoping that I wasn't boring everyone with all the pics So here's more pics before I call it a night. I couldn't just leave the windows the way they were. She's no beauty queen. The windows are close, but no cigar yet..

That would make one sexy flat bed pickup. It looks great, are you going to fix the rear fenders? |
