| Redoing the 1964 Chevrolet CrewCab
I started this a couple weeks back, and I think I can get it built. I have lots of left over bits from all my Bowtie builds and hate to throw them away. So, with that said, its a rough start, but I'm trying to get the whole body basicallly fleshed out before I finish all of the contours and curves and stuff... The real truck is not even built yet, I found it on a 1:1 forum. This is a photoshopped pic of what the guy wants to do. From what I have found out, supposedly only about 400 of these were built, and they were built by outsde contractors, not GM. Most were used in the Forestry Dept's I'll let the pics tell the story, unless you guys have any questions Its a mess, thats for sure, but let me know what ya think so far, and if I'm left alone tonite I may have a little more done. Thank you, Very much, to all of you, and there's quite a few it looks like so far. I will finish this, I have to now, I've put it out on several forums. Its been easier then I thought it would, just lots of building up and sanding back down. I did finish my Van Bear or bare wih me, I do most of my work early in the morning on weekends. I have lots of sanding ahead of me, can you see the difference in the bed this time compared to the last pics G'Night Gentlemen, this old man is headed to bed.. |

This was in the February '10 Street Trucks magazine. I found these pics on c10forum.com IIRC, it's a C-60 cab. Notice the wrap-around windshield, big back window, and exposed rear door hinges. The rear windows in the OP's blue truck wouldn't roll down. Last edited by Pete from Houston; 07-24-2010 at 09:11 PM. |

Love that van. I am big fan of vans. Looking to get a 1:1 4x4 van for trucking my family around the country.

Thanks Everyone, for all of your comments. Thank you Pete, for the pics, and karlos, since you had one, help keep me in line with this build, and looneybin, it sounds like you might be able to keep me in line also. As you can guess, it takes a lot of time to do anything noticable on a build like this, and since I'm waiting for a few things in the mail, I've been slowly sanding and shaping, with lots more to do. These are what I use most besides a few jewlers files or sandpaper. I haven't shredded any fingers, (YET) These trucks had wood beds Been working on the bed Worked on the grille, early this morning, Its still in really rough shape. Not happy with the hood |
