Thanks, sadly, this is probably the only one I'll make. It took a better part of a year and a half to build. But who knows? I'm currently gathering the parts to build an FJ70.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I really love this rig as if it were a part of the family. It's a lot of fun to drive, and performs better than I could have imagined, despite it's weight. Oh, and it'll definitely be making an appearance at the ECSC. Here's another video I shot yesterday, and a poser photo. Enjoy! Last edited by imthatguy; 04-14-2014 at 06:09 AM. |

I don't know how I missed this build. Based on how my custom DF01/TA01 based independent suspension chassis fabrication is going so far, I'm pretty confident that I can build just about any wheelbase independent suspension rig using the front and rear transaxles from any Tamiya TA series car. I can supply the chassis, you can make the bodies. I'm putting in my order for a Range Rover Sport. 257mm wheelbase. Thanks! PayPal ready. |

I'm still pretty happy with it, and after doing a scale run on Sunday, and getting some video, I'm even happier with it's recent suspension upgrades.

Hey look! I updated this thread after 3 years! Thanks to the good people at Boom Racing, I've got accurate beadlock wheels finally! They really knocked the wheels out of the park. Very easy to assemble, extremely easy to mount onto tires and fantastic looks. One of the things that isn't often mentioned, is the fact that you buy these wheels as fronts, or rears. The front ones obviously have the locking hub. If you choose not to have locking hubs, you can just order two sets of rears. I like the flexibility. The air valve is a nice touch for dorks like me. Backspacing is good, offsets nice on a yota axle. They include a set of hexes that are wider than standard. The instructions are easy to follow and have great illustrations. If you're a vintage Toyota guy looking for an awesome looking wheel, that's easy on the wallet, these are the ones for you. They currently come in silver and black color options, with I believe white on the way. |
