Thanks! Your scaler should be cool. My build is taking forever with all the other stuff I have going on....and I'm a slow builder anyway

The winch is a MSD/Juggster part.

I do to. I'd love more info/photos of the setup. I've been thinking of something similar on the charity montero build but thought I'd need the entire tranny housing at the motor end. Looks like I'd just need the bearing/shaft for the spur gear, or am I wrong?
more info please...

[I did read about some gear reduction on page 5 but not sure how that fits in here exactly].

The floor is made from a piece of 0.060" aluminum sheet. I cut the excess plastic off the bottom of the seats and then drilled
two holes in each seat base. Seats are held to the floor with two 3mm screws in each seat going into 3mm tapped holes in
the floor sheet. Is that what you're asking?

I started with a motor mount plate that holds the motor. I machined a small aluminum hat that holds two ball bearings
and screws to the mount plate. I thought I might need a special shaft (cannabalized axle or driveshaft of some short)
for the spur shaft but ended up using a slightly modified 5mm socket head cap screw. To that I added a spur hub,
spur gear, 5mm nut and a driveshaft cup fits on the end and secures to the 5mm bolt that has flats cut on it.

Hope that helps.
Jay

Yes. And, in the second pic, how did you bend the panel that is vertical?

How did you shape or cut the floor panel in the first pic behind the seat?

thanks again for the help!

The firewall is thinner (maybe 0.020") aluminum. I simply used my hand to carefully bend it over the edge of a metal filing cabinet I have.

The floor pan was cut using a small vertical bandsaw, but could be done with a hacksaw. Finished up with a file or two.

I knew I wanted the motor moved out of the cab to make room for seats and the batteries, so decided to put it
under the hood where it would normally be and just built a little driveshaft to get power to the tranny....pretty
simple. For the steering, I didn't want the servo on the axle but tucked under the body. Made up a simple setup
that sorta resembles a steering box and pitman you might find on a typical crossover steering setup. Fuel cell
just made to resemble a typical steel box cell.

Hey Rok, on post 121, pic 1...., Is your steering setup like the bell crank setup for hilux/f350.?

How did you make the pitman arm (i.e., gray piece) on bottom? what is the piece on top (black plastic piece)?

thanks a lot!
