Default MBA Tundra tow rig

Well this is my first 3-speed so I'm super excited to get it built and running. My plans are to make it a tow rig and build a double axle trailer to go behind it. I have a plan on how i want to modify this bad ass rig but as always I will build it stock first.

I love the smell of fresh injection molded parts

I have so many RC cars running right now that I had to get new electronics. I picked up another Rooster Cralwer, Spektrum 3Ch Rx, HiTec 5945MG and 645MG for shifting. I will use my existing DX3R and possibly a 65t lathe.

I also got five bad-ass CAC wheels:

It's cool they 2.0's so they shouldnt need any glue. I also like how the wheels make the tire look lower profile, perfect for the So/NorCal look, thanks Troy for the fast service!

Tires for this truck are still up in the air......but I'm thinking either the Prowlers or the Rock Creepers, what do you think?

I got a color picked out but it will be a surprise until completed and same goes for the other details I'm plannning

I ordered five Rock Creepers from RPP last night, Cory ships super fast so I expect them here tomorrow.

I also got a box of Tamiya paints from Tower Hobby today, anybody want to guess the color?

So I tore into the kit last night and started to build the transmission but only got to page 4 before I realized I forgot to buy a bearing kit.... I also didnt get the semi-gloss black paint (TS-29) with my last Tower order so guess who will get more of my shipping $$...

Bearings are comming from Il so this will be a slow one..

you will enjoy the build.
take your time on the transmission steps.

also make sure to use loctight on the gear
pinion that goes towards the back, right above the transfer case.

you have two of them next to each other in the picture.

the wheels look sick

Finally got the bearings on Monday and had to stay up late a couple nights to build up the chassis. Pretty much left it stock but added some 6mm aluminum hexs and aluminum servo arms. I bought a new 5645MG for the steering and used an old 645MG for the shifting. I dropped the Rx in the fuel tank and bead blasted the red ano off the shocks:

For the springs I used the main leaf, small overload leaf on the bottom and long secondary spring on top, it seem to flex alright but will need to be broken in.

I will paint the body up this weekend but will need to get some 4mm hexes as there is a bit too much track width

Aneyone see where Im going with this...

Looks good. Talk to chino about those springs. His flexes really well and I think he de-arched them somehow.

Just a quick question...where did you get the bearing kit from and how much did it cost you?
