I wonder if there is a way to get everyone on this site who is active member to donate $5.00 each to raise for the cause and see what we can do. That is if Jason or badger would like to take care of donating the money and we could raise enough. Maybe we can do it as way of donating on behalf of RCC to the cause for Christmas. I bet that would make a great Christmas present. what do you guys think?

Isn't there some toy raising/money comps going on this year? I think someone just needs to get their hand on that rig so tickets can be sold like they were supposed to be in the first place!!!! No matter if it's here or on Scale4X4....

It doesnt matter, its never going to make it anywhere else but over there.

My point is we shouldnt need to donate anything to the winner to raise money. I think many of us agree that 45.00 isnt much from our hearts for a good cause. How many members are on here actively?

1. if there was a way to do this with out PayPal screwing this.
2. set up a nice page with a cool banner to attract people
3. put out an all out bulletin to all members asking them to help if they can.
I think it can be done and I would be really interested to see how much is raised.

My father died of diabetic causes 7 years ago so this is near and dear to my heart.

I feel horrible though because the financial state we are in now wouldn't allow is to be able to donate any money. I think that, if we can find a way to do this, make them green star holders for life, and hold it in honor ofpeole we have lost due to diabetic problems as I see there are several on here.

Thats just an idea though...

I know that people wouldn't expect anything or take anything but even if it means that I can't help repay the people that lost money and hope, will then maybe my rig can then, hell I've had it for three years and I have played with less than anyone one on this site, if I can spruce it up and sell it to anyone who will use it more than me and with the money given to something good, it's all worth it.

P.S. that green star idea isn't to bad either... it would be nice lol jk

but I will try my hardest to get a bec and a body and a few other stuff and hopefully with christmas money or finacial aid, I can get my rig all purty and put it to good use

What about turning one of the kick ass builds for the Christmas give away(s) into a charity raffle so we can show scamtablo how it should be done? I'd be down for a $10 or $20 donation for a raffle ticket
It's just a thought

No we want to keep these as giveaways for the Christmas giveaway and the vendors way of saying thank you. maybe later I will see if we can arange to get something done. My thought was why do we have to give away something to show we care over here.

That's cool, but what better way to say "thank you" than raising money for a worthy charity...

Well I agree Matt, but that isn't what these were built for. These were built for the supporting members of this site. No one should have to bid to win a Christmas present. their support to the RCC website for the $20.00 star and buying from RCC supporting vendors is what that is about.

Like I said I will see if I can rally up some vendors to do this later.
But again, Im trying to know why we have to giveaway something to raise money for the cause. I'll just have to wait until after the holidays to see if I can get it done.

No worries Norm, like I said, it was just a thought.
As for why having to give away something to raise money: unfortunately, a lot of people want something in return.
You get a donation thing going somehow, I'll donate. You know the pit I'm in financially, but you also know I'd give the shirt off my back to somebody in need.

I am in for a RCC charity. How about recovering vets we all donate money or Parts, and we send the awesome prize's to some vets in rehab? I dont need a raffle to win a toy truck I have one. If I can help get another guy hooked and help with a soldiers rehab with a new toy I would be happy with that..

Nothing against Diabetes chairitys or anything just thinking Veterans day is next week Be kinda cool to see what RCC Members could pull out of their ass in a week for a vet when this loser has taken 2 years just to sit on the pot..

Guys, if you really want to help some people do something local to you. I do a toy run every year here in Augusta Ga. This will be our 5th year. We have filled the toy bins at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) Childrens Center every year and handed them a nice check to boot! I have done Crawling for Kids in Atlanta at Stone Mt. Ga with the help of other members here to do the same thing 2 years now. This would be the 3rd year but I waited to long to get it together because of the local toy run I'm doing. I've done 2 big Cancer walks and fund raisers this year as well here in town.

My point is there are so many great causes out there that need help. Get involved with your community and make a difference. You can do so much more that way. If everyone did that this board as a whole could help 20-30 different causes across the US.

As for one build or rig raising that much to really help I don't see it. You could have one comp as a fund raiser for a cause and charge $20 entry fee and raise more that that build could. Your heart is in the right place. But talk is cheap! Stand up and do something, not just talk about it. Help some people where you call home.....

I agree with Kenny, locally is the best bet for most of us. We know where the funds, prizes are going then. I have been helping with the Marine Corp Toys for tots program for 15 years now, it's great fun. I also help out with local vets and meals on wheels.
I would be down for some kind of collection here for a charity as long as it is handled correctly.

I think Kenny and 3sixes both have great ideas. If either of you guys get something lined up I will be happy to donate for the cause. I would even sign up for a donation comp. even if I couldnt make it to the event.

Well, guys, here's the deal:

I've been in touch with Pablo, and he's agreed to send the rig to me. I'll handle the drawing, donations, and shipping to the winner. There are still a few details to work out, but this is IS going to happen.
