Nice mod.
What sort of width (outside of hex to outside of hex) does it give you?
I can't wait to see what else you got in mind.

Love this idea, those look a lot like 406's. So what have you got planned for the rear?

Wow, thats cool! I was just about to part out my extra MRC on ebay but those portals are a great idea. Can't wait to see the finished project.

So are front and rear going to be the same or will you try the rear with straight adapters?

I was wondering the same thing. I bet it wouldnt be to hard to make some fubar style lockouts. and get rid of the steering arm..

Nice Dean, now I get what you mean. The OD green is a great touch too.
How's that arm doing?

I MUST subscribe to this....what a great looking job on the mortals...

What is the width of the Tamiya Mog vs. say...the Dickie's Mog...anyone know?

The Dickie's knockoff that I'm building has an outside of fender to outside of fender measurement of:

FRONT: 7-5/8"
REAR: 8"

I'm currently using CR01 axles which are roughly 8" wms to wms...I believe. I'd like to maybe use a narrower axle so that I could keep the width in check.

Thanks

ARON

You know I had a set of derlin lockouts for my old WK rig, that fit into the space between the rear "steering knuckle" and the axle housing and they worked great.. The easiest solution would be to measure the space between the end of the axle and portal and then just shave down a peice of derlin and drill a hole in the middle of it.. Voila, new lockouts that work with the portals... besides you could always shape tit to look like on peice of the axle...

I made some lock-outs for mine but they wouldn't be practical to make for sale. The width was off quite a bit from one side to the other.
Also the amount of torque thrown into the plastic axle is crazy, both my plastic axles are toast. 3Racing has some sweet Alum Axial axles but at $80 each it goes on the long RC list.

ARON, if I could remember I'll measure the track width on mine tomorrow but you could see here, it's not terrible.

Aron, the track width of my set up is 9-1/4".
That's 3Racing portals, Axial axle housings, RC4WD HumV beadlocks and Trail Doc tires, outside to outside of tire.

Thanks again for the quick ship on the Dickie Mog, got it today and it's gonna be perfect on my scaler.

No updates yet. I've been out of commission for a while, I broke my wrist 6 weeks ago so hopefully I will get my cast off Tuesday.

Then I will resume work on this.

Great mod! I've got an MRC so now all I need are the portals. I like the way the MRC axles look under the Mog body. Keep it up!

Edit: 3Racing says high clearance knuckles on their site but do they have reduction?
