OK, so I made a little progress the last few days. I finished up the rest of the suspension and decided to do something a bit different than the norm. Dual shocks will reside at all 4 corners. I have mixed feelings about it but since they are the perfect length shocks, they will stay. Fronts were easy, rears took some thinking. I will install some limit straps to help keep the rodends alive. I have to say, it's butter smooth. Here are the rear lower mounts. Kinda funky but they are placed high and out of the way. Made a sweet little panhard mount too! Here's the front all buttoned up with all components in place. Cab on to get an idea of how it will look with the Pitbulls. Flex is just about perfect! Shocks aren't bottomed yet, need more weight. Shooting for 6lbs max. Doubt I'll make it but..... |

| Re: Operation Achtung!! Very slick!! I've always shied away from those axles. I loved the looks but always wondered just how durable they are, and of course the price is a bit more, but they really stand out with scale parts added. I might have to grab a set of them some day. |

| Re: Operation Achtung!! Yes sir, I'm having fun again! Thanks, shocks are by Hot Racing for the MRC Thanks! So far on my OG Yota, they are holding up really well. I have been really impressed with RC4WD's products lately. |

So, I got a little frisky with the mill last weekend and came up with something a little different for the steering. If it works to my satisfaction and there is some interest, it might make it onto the list of Mad Dog R/C projects available for purchase. Pretty simple really, just having fun with the mill. The steering shaft was a broken TLT CVD, 2 5x8 flanged bearings are pressed into the steering block. Let me know if you like it! Last edited by chino63; 02-05-2012 at 07:36 PM. |

That is one awesome conversion, gives room for the battery or a winch. I like it, the bellcrank/steering box is epic! One thing though, couldyou get the servo so it is at the same height as the shock tower easily?

Thanks, servo can't go any lower on this setup. It's just an idea at this point, still don't know how it will fit in other configurations (stock axles especially). The bell crank can be indexed 90 degrees with the battery on the right side of the chassis and the servo placed further back on the chassis with a link in push/pull, kinda like on my O.G. tan 'yota. | |
