| Axial SCX10 vs. RC4WD TF2
Hallo all, I did use the search command first but could not find a 3D ref.to comparison between these 2 scalers... I am pretty new to this category, long experience in RC but only less than one year in this, and the only rig I have so far is a Wraith (which I have been upgrading for long time now....) I am already planning to build my own scaler and have already spent hours reading the many threads about both Axial SCX10 and as well TF2.... I love them both, the TF2 to me is the most realistic scale look rig I ever saw (out of the box), but the SCX10 seems to have better capability with the 4 links setup but it would need some extra work to make it as nice as the TF2 Hilux body (at least in my personal opinion and according to my taste...) I can't really make up my mind and would like to open this question in order to collect some inputs, feedback, opinions here in the forum, I know many users have built them both so I guess there will be lot of people who have had experience with both of these two RC cars..... I will really appreciate some experienced and as well personal opinions about my question .... Many thanks in advance Slim PS: I hope this is the right section to post my question.. if not I apologise and kindly ask the moderators to move it into the correct section. |

You've done the research, which is more capable, which is more scale. Consider where and how you plan to drive. How scale you want to go, TF has a full interior out of the box. A 2-speed and full interior can be had in a SCX but it's gonna take modification. Do you want to build or buy scaleness?

In my opinion your talking about two completely different rigs. The tf2 is a scale Toyota and IMO is way more realistic and a closer 1:1 replica. It performs great for a "stock" vehicle. Now the scx10 is a total different being. It drives way different and is a more capable "crawler". It really comes down to what you want in a scaler. Something that looks scale and drives scale or something that looks and performs like a crawler. Granted if the objective your after is best performance with scale looks. Get an scx10 and put the hilux body on it. |

Thanks a lot guys! U r confirming my opinion, I think I like more the performances.... So I guess SCX10 would fit best my needs... and as well I can do some building work to make it more scale! Additionally I could also plan to buy them both but due to time restriction I must choose one! Thanks that helped! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

if u are looking for a hilux that performs, def go with the scx10. also, the dingo interior fits inside the hilux cab relatively easy. i did it on my project, and i think it looks great for a cheap and easy interior.. |

Get a RTR honcho and your driving, buy the TF2 and your building.... while your driving. Time will always be an issue for everyone - thats life. But you will always want more with which ever one you buy. Damn if you do - Damn if you don't..... |

| Re: Axial SCX10 vs. RC4WD TF2 1/10 T-Finder RTR Scale Truck I've looked into this one. If you buy the tf2 body set, this could be nice for you. Though I do see hook ups (on rocks, getting stuck) some broken c-hubs (t-rex 60 plastic axles really suck in that area) and possibly a smoked servo. A few things you could do to fix this problem: Reinforced c-hubs:T-Rex 60 Reinforced Axle C Servo:Hitec HS-5646WP Waterproof Digital Servo, 179 oz/in at .18 sec., HTS35646W skid plate:Trail Finder Center Skid Plate Plus! It's cheaper than both of those trucks! And it looks like it comes with steel punisher shafts, which will last you quite a while. good luck! Last edited by mitchr97; 02-16-2013 at 12:58 PM. |
