Default 1960 Chevrolet Impala Parkwood build

I’d like to present the process of building the Chevrolet Impala Parkwood.
This is not a classic crawler. I just have a crush on this body.
I'm not sure that I realize the difference between Kingswood and Parkwood, but I used to know it as Parkwood.

Scale 1:9, the same as the previous build.
Materials: 2 mm and 3 mm komacel, putty for plastic, epoxy putty, plastic for moulding.

First of all, I made a blueprint and paper model.

Workflow:

Plastic for moulding is not perfect, but I had to fill in a lot of space to make bends.

Great choice. Can not think of a more difficult body! Utmost respect, following this all the way. And a photographer on the side

Absolutely amazing work! I'd say that is one the most difficult bodies to recreate from scratch.

My memory is fuzzy but..... Kingswood, Parkwood and Brookwood were all trim levels for the wagons and Biscayne, Bell Air and Impala were the trim levels for non wagons in '59 and '60.

I'd love to have an R/C recreation of my '63 Impala wagon someday.

Again, you are an amazing craftsman, can't wait for the next update!

Thank you for your interest in the build!

Realistic chassis will look great, but it probably will not be so interesting. I wish I liked on-road classes as much.
I would like to make it more like a crawler, with the wide axles, maybe. The original chassis can be made someday in the future.

For the second layer of paint, I used Tamiya NATO Brown that remained from the J-20 built.

The final layer - mixed acrylic paint.

Chrome parts are made of foil scotch tape. Actually it's not tape, it is a real foil with a layer of glue.
I started in March and it took about two and a half months to make it look like this.
