well in order to use the Mayhem wheels, because the hex pocket is so deep i had to use standard Axial thick hexes with the nipple. well i wanted to use the scx-10 thin hexes to narrow the track, but mostly to reduce more tire scrub with the thicker XR knuckles. but as you can see that wasnt possible. so i got out the hack saw problem solved then i got all the steering links made, and decided to move the panhard axle mount from the AX10 location out on to the XR "C". this allowed the panhard rod to be 1" longer further eliminating axle swing. finished the truck just in time to try it out at my annual Rock The Lake 3 scale comp. truck did very well dispite needing a BEC. the servo winch and steering servo just didnt have enough umf to move this heavy truck. ended up actually winning class 3. |

| Re: ~TSS~ Project "Big B!tch" Silverado C3 5 years later i think ill take your advice after a crawl with Tommy R the other day ive had an itch to build again. for some reason this old build has been on my mind, and i also liked Andys (XSRC) spare parts/free build so i thought id combine the two. spent all day yesterday digging threw my bins and found most of the major components from the original. had a new set of axles in my AR60 bin, used for mock up on a U4 build i never finished, already had some of my brass knuckles on them from website photoshoot. stole the trans off that rig too. stole the shocks off my C2 silverado i never finished links stash, ended up going with stock wraith links, they were the perfect length and had the bends i needed. plus instant gratification for a quick build. ill upgrade to some vanquish links or something later few hours later its starting to look like something. has a few minor clearance issues but some smaller driveshafts will fix most of those. its sitting a little high, ill probly end up flipping the lower link/shock mounts. cost so far $0 |
