Although you may be able to help me out with something, I tried the chassis mounted servo and it was all over the place when it articulated :-( Any tips on getting rid of that? I might just have to mount it over the axle. I think its due to it being so short causing the extra issues.
Brandon, if you mount the servo to ONE side of the chassis, with the servo horn pointing straight down, you will eliminate 90% of the slop. just drill two small holes on one side and mount the two servo posts to the chassis rail, then attach the servo, put it on the long side, meaning the steering arm is as long as you can spare, then put a spacer on the axle arm, then another above that to raise the pivot angle of the rod. Then run your steering rod straight to the servo, don't bend it. I can send you a pic if this is too confusing with my rant of typing.

I think I followed you, and tried it, the problem is this thing is so small that the servo mounted there hits the axles when it articulates. Only place it can hang down is right in the middle but then the steering rod gets short and thats where all the slop comes in. Although I might need a picture otherwise I will keep ranting...

That looks awesome.

As far as bling wheels go try the New Stampede 2.8's. I mounted up a set with Moabs but I know that the Goelanders would look really good on them as well and will be lower profiled.

Definatley the dubs you are looking for.

When you get close to done, take a portable radio out of its casing and mount it inside the body. Then you can have some "bumpin" in your "whip"... (God I hate some of the kid lingo these days)

You may be able to use a remote servo and actuate the steering usting a jackshaft and bellcrank setup, like on a Tamiya XC chassis. Although you'd have to build the brackets to hold the Pitman arm, at least your servo would be out of the way.

Unless the axle is hitting the Pitman arm itself. Then ya got problems :-(

Got my tires, servo mounted on the axle, and all the electronics are in. All I need to do is mount the body (dont know how yet) and its complete for Moab! Hopefully before, but it not after I will start adding scale details

Will do! I cant wait to get the body mounted. Its first outing is going to be with a 17t motor in it in my backyard on a HUGE mound of dirt that my brother built trails and jumps on for his TA02 hummer. I cant wait to use this on it!

Still no mounted body, but I got it ready for some speed

Also glued the tires and took one last shot before the body gets mounted.

Probably wont get to work on it until Sat. Dove season starts tomorow!! WOOOO!
