Default Klampyz R1 Foffbouncer

ok. so i made an effort and organised my photobucket.

and built a rather powerful R1 bouncer.

coming together>

yes.... integy. but its full of good stuff. Axial HD gears, VP locker, RC4wd shafts, some bearings that spin. alloy hexes...

some more expensive stuff

some fuzzyness.

flexxy steeringness

plus a shot showing off the one off rims i got from the Duuuuuuude man.

bought a set of 2.2 treps for it. and also a Dlux carbon truss for the front axle.

tonights playtime will be new front upper links to fit the new truss, and possibly different esc/motor combo.. dunno what yet but thinking brushed motor can go back in there. would be nice to be able to crawl with it too.

new links have fixed pinion angle and given back some of the low hanging servo clearance.

next plan, powerplant. at part throttle it really glitches quite bad. and has terrible start up cog.

i cant tell if its the motor or the ESC, or a combo of both. its a leopard 3950kv 10turn motor. id imagine the motor wouldnt be the culprit for glitching at part throttle compared to the cog at startup. but ill try a different ESC first n see how it responds.

Dunno I could be wrong but that's a pretty high Kv. I have a 3100 and thought it was high for crawling.

yeh its definitely a high kv setup. its rather fast. lol hence being a rockbouncer, but i have next to zero low speed control. so ive ordered a sensored motor for it, i have a tamiya sensored ESC here so ill see how that runs.

so i tried to fit in what i thought was a locked up FI spool. but turned out to be non genuine and was too wide to fit in the bearing carriers in my VP axle.

ive ordered a GPM spool for the short term, if i destroy that, then ill get myself a proper FI spool. ill post pics once it arrives.

OK these builds are crazy but these are not really g-made r1 anymore all your using is the roll cage in this build turning it into just another custom build. I would love to see one of these where someone takes the r1 axles and makes them tougher and more reliable using parts that you don't need a phd in searching to find or make. Please excuse my rant but hey nice build

Thanks for the comment. What else would you call it though? It's an almost completely wraith drivetrain but it's most definitely not a wraith.

Like taking a Chevy truck and putting ford engine gearbox n axles and saying it's not a Chevy anymore.

New locker. Went with the cheaper one purely as I was budget limited at the time. See how long it lasts I suppose.
Nice product tho, came with screws and a couple of shims of which I didn't use.

Ok so it's been a while since I did anything with this. But first thing I'll say is the gpm locker was poo. Stripped out within about 5mins.

Aluminium and lockers don't mix.

So I did a bunch of stuff I didn't Like. And now it's taken a full spin. No longer an R1.

I call it R2. (ORIGINAL RIGHT!!!)

I'll let the pictures tell the story so far.

Fitted some other things to check the first thing

Doing its thing

Function thing that's important to show in threads of things

Sitting on the thing.

Sexy thing

Doing the rock thing

The rubber thing has tried as hard as it can but can't even.

Been on and off with this hobby that is rc but back at it atm. Here's a picture of a Turk.

And here's another picture of some things. 2.2 rovers to replace the cracked and aging treps. I'll put some pitbulls on it one day.

Plans are at some point to source some 2.2 pitbulls for it, rag top, full sand coloured paint job, some sort of interior detail and a driver.
