So, I have planned a Formula Offroad / Rock bouncer style build using a little 07 size nitro and Axial driveline. likely parts will unclude XRmod front setup, beef tubes unis etc, rear will likely just be stock bar HD gears and wideners. chassis is still completely up in the air, but i do like the idea of this body shell for it. but i may also keep it in the family and just run another XJ cherokee body, as it will eventually get "towed" by my SCX XJ. im considering using a Wraith chassis for this, but i also have sitting here a pair of stock Venom Creeper side plates, or could also run SCX rails with cage welded to. im well open to suggestions, but i plan on keeping the nitro, purely because i can, and its different. lemme know what yall reckon |

decided against the nitro for now. but up in the air regarding the option of IFS or solid axle up front? i see most go SA so there must be a reason for it? |

purchased these, going to split it with a mate. plus, the other friend who wanted the IFS now doesnt. so it only seems fitting that an Isuzu Dmax gets to have IFS. oh the things that change when there is no set plan in place... im also liking the idea of dual motors, straddling either side of an EXO center diff.... locked of course. nice, low CoG yet hi gearing... hmmmm |

solid axle really isnt a must its just scale-er, also its harder to lock IFS wich you HAVE to have the front end locked to pull you up and over, i know some people running open rear diffs though.

here is the basic chassis layout im planning on. just waiting for the bodies to arrive before i determine how im going to lay it out, whether i shoot for scale, or performance. |

so the two bodies turned up today. Sitting on the jeep chassis. im gonna keep the black one. giving my mate the silver one. slammed> it is a drift body after all... dingo flares from my Comanche build. gonna fit perfect. 1.55 mud thrashers before body trimming. after trimming with 2.2s and stretched tires. thrashers thinkin about this type of setup, might go for the rally look rather than an outright Foffer. maybe. the IFS is VERY wide. the dingo flares will cover about 1/3 of the tire at this width. but as you can see the SCX axle in the rear is perfect for the dingo flare to fully cover the tire. SCX width perfect coverage. sorry for all the excessive pics, but im kinda stuck now. i dont really want to cut this body up like i originally thought i would. kinda like it as a tuff 4wd ute and SAS front end rather than IFS. its getting built mostly out of parts i have lying around and i do want it to be somewhat fast so let me know what you think i should do with it. |
