Looks for the press release in a couple weeks on the new shocks and springs.

The balls are plastic, and still work on the axle mounts. They are interchangeable with the older metal balls. The RTC doesn't come with a cross member between the shocks, but you can still bolt one up if you wanted too. The rubber upper shock bushings are about the same thickness as the standard ball upper shock mounts.

Here's a few shots on the rocks. I went out for a little test session today and was very surprised at some of the lines I pulled off with this "budget build". I also went through and siped the Hammer tires, which really made them come to life. Here's a pic of one 1/2 way through the siping process.

Damn Bember that's a pretty cool truck for an RTC. I'm sorely tempted to cross breed one of these with a TCS Eclipse.

That is really neat, I plan to get one of these and I needed to know if I will be able to use all the parts I have from the kit. If you would have to wait wait for 2 weeks to get your truck rolling again:-(:-(, you would grasp my concern for interchangeability. Thank you for the response.

Cool Bender, Will you be upgrading the rig with the highspeed r&P gears?

I'm not sure I see the need for an RTC when Axial already has the RTR truck. That consufses me a little, but it's great to see that the crawling segment seems to be still growing and Axial is helping it to grow.

1/8" diamater air holes in your wheels? That seems huge to this newbie!

Anyway, I like the build so far and I think building a better RTC crawler on a budget will help a lot of people and it could be turned into a great sticky.

I use four 1/16" holes in my wheels, or six depending on foam/weight setup

This truck has new parts that set it apart from the RTR(which is intended more as a rockracer)and improves on the design

Spend a little time studying the differences between the RTC and the RTR and you will see the difference.

The RTR is a piece of junk! The RTC is a much better starting point. Everything Axial screwed up with the RTR they fix with the RTC or at least most of it! I think a lot of that is because of bender being involved, but spend a few min's looking and you will get it!

Wish this had been out just a few months ago. I would have picked one up right away. Definitely looks like a good deal. I really like those shocks. I'll have to be on the lookout for a set to replace my ARTR ones.

compare the RTR vs the RTC...

27t vs 55 turn
better shocks in the RTC
better body for crawling in the RTC
improved upon links in the RTC

just think of it liek this...the RTC is a basic crawler that's ideal for beginners and girlfriends to get into actual crawling....where as the RTR is a more general RC that can bash, crawl, or just be soemthing to learn the ins and outs of rc trucks. 2 different markets really...but both are great trucks for the sub $250 price range!

We received the first few last week. I'm sure the next batch is close behind too.

Still haven't got the specs on the servo. I'll try and get a definite answer and post up this week.

No problem, everything is interchangeable.

Yup, that's me on the bottom of the box.

Probably not anytime soon. I wanted to do a basic build with a very small budget to see how well I could get it to perform. I shot some video of this rig as is late last week, and it's working very well.
