the ring gear needs to be opened up to 6mm and the hexes need drilled. i think you can buy the hexes though

I had to shorten one of the axles about 1/32" other than that the kit is awesome. TCS is sold out of the super 300 hexes where else can I get a set, I drilled out the stock ones but the fit is sloppy and causes some wobble.

I believe I saw a post that TCS would have more hexes soon, only other place to get them that I know of would be direct from SDS.

It's been about six weeks since I've posted in this thread, my bearings still haven't moved any and the C's are still rock solid after adding the extra setscrews. The 300's keep taking beatings and begging for more. I've ripped my 8711 off the servo plate and turned my BTA link into a pretzel, used a 8 foot high gate as launch ramp yesterday and the 300's keep laughing at my abuse.

I can't keep one of my bearings in, I have glued them but one always comes out. That issue aside they are awesome, I have bent aluminum servo horns and had to upgrade to aluminum servo mounts, but the 300's just ask for more.

Hobbytown, and T1E, soon to add RPP, and MSD. CKRC has chosen for the second time to no longer carry my products.

Have u tried using the locktite? The locktite is meant to adhere the bearing to the shaft and not the housing. That should cure the issue

i had to use a dremel tool with a chain saw sharpening bit, that was after ruining a few bits It doesnt have to be perfect since it slides in the locker.

You shouldn't need to shorten any of them.

interview

Motorman: They are nice to have but the price is ridiculous. but i bought them anyway

I tried a lot of different stuff and trashed many Dremel bits and this one was the only one that even scratched the black HD stock ratio gearset, still took quite some time to open it up. I don't think the OD/UD HD sets are near as hard of metal as the stock ratio set, stock gears are super easy and fast to open up.

The loctite I put between the bearing and shaft on 3-12 is still holding strong.

Still no issue's with these, I competed in the Rox around the Clox 24 hour event last weekend and drove all 27 courses over the 24 hours, threw tons of abuse at the truck and the 300's took it all. I did snap a straight rear shaft on one eight foot fall on the 26th course I ran, even with the double setscrews in the C's they were wobbling pretty bad by the end also. No way I could of made it threw all the binds, jumps and falls I put the truck into that night without the 300's, I figure I would have broke 15-20 Axial CVD pins plus a few shafts and cups in that time.

It's not an issue with the loctite, I have took my shafts in and out several times and the loctite still holds.

After I move all of the shafts that I have from the first run then I will make the proper changes to the shafts and they will have a machined shoulder to retain the bearings though the loc-tite definetely will keep the bearings in place as Indiana Mudcat was saying.
