So where is all the Gc3a builds? This chassis looks very promising for shafty owners,I figured there would be a ton of build threads by now...?

Could have sworn I saw something in the post about BTA but with a second Look, I didn't see anything. Anyone tried the Axial BTA kit? Is it simply a matter of re-drilling for the correct geometry or will it not work at all?

I just got back from running a 5 course comp with mine and I am very happy with it. The only thing I don't like is the steering. I have been used to the Axial bta and now with an outfront steering setup I am getting hung up on stuff I never would used to. After a couple courses I got used to the steering and adjusted my driving style to work around having all that crap in front of my axle. |

What causes the issue with installing the BTA kit? is is the top linkage location on the GC3?

I was thinking of fabbing up a plate using the GC3 plate as a template, with the servo off to the side, however I am not sure if the horn will have enough room to travel since the uper links are closer to the tire than a regular four link plate.

| Body off pics with front wheels at full steering throw left and right? How close do the tires get to rubbing the lower links using stock Axial beadlocks?

Ok, I haven't posted in this thread for a while and I intend to get up a personal build thread. But hey, I've got three kids, so everything hobbyish happens slow with me. I started my GC3A build wanting to make sort of a contemporary tribute to the original AX10 RTR. It looks awesome, but the only problem is, this chassis performs way too well to be a racer/crawler/basher. Its like I'm insulting its comp worthiness. So before the build thread goes up, I'll be tweaking it to more of a comp spec. AND I will include some video footage. Anyone with an AX10 needs this kit. Yes, its that good. BTW - anyone fussing over the steep pinion angle in the front, I think thats a deliberate part of Austins design. (Maybe its what contributes the the extreme reduction in torque twist) Go with it. |

I agree this thing is awesome. I tested it on all my favorite climbs to make sure it could match my previous setup. Made them look easy. The narrow chassis is nice for squeezing around rocks. It drastically cut down the torque twist and walking side to side when throttling up climbs.

Amen to that! AUSTIN! Please post up some video footage dude, silence the skeptics, and these things will be flying off the shelf. |
