I can do that. I've got a pair with Sedonas mounted on them. Flip them around backwards, bolt them on, and the spacing is perfect, so I've been using them as a guide.

You and KC are on to something with that steering setup. Great thinking, both of you.

After re loking at your pics... why didn't you just do a straight tie rod? The room seems to be there with the servo tilted back. I can see mabe the drag link being a bit tough but would be a lot lighter then your 3 pc design.

duuuuuuuude I have nothing against innovation, and the ax axles need lots of it when it comes to steering. That said Im with PipeDreams on this one. straight rod should be stronger. Isn't that why everyone is getting rid of the 3 piece design on the xr and going to a straight link?

OOh heck its his rig, im just making the rims for it . I see both sides of the argument, I would almost run an OTA/BTA system like what Gatekeeper has, it seems to work good and it is 1 piece.

Thats a killer idea IMO. That type of set up looks like it will get rid of some slop.

Stronger or weaker I dont know. dont care either, that looks to be able to get beat up all day long and NOT beat the actual tie rod at all.

what is going to break that wont with a solid tie rod? the rod ends??

This is plenty strong, not sure why you guys think it won't be.

You'd have to ask an XR guy why they're moving away from the stock configuration, because I have no idea. There could be many reasons.

As far as innovation goes, you don't know how good or bad a road is until you walk it. This is me walking.

As innovative as you are, I expect almost anything.

Hey its his rig, he can put his ideas where he wants

I never noticed the advantage of that setup with the draglink being covered by the Delrin, that maybe handy when going up stuff since it won't rub on the rocks like a normal one would.

I forget, how big is the battery on the rig

HA HA HA yup that's all of us just some arm chair fabricators lol ... Right Irok?

They are shying away from it because of all the slop generated in all the rod ends, and all the angles from tierods to tierods to more tierods. Its simple Take to rods joined together with a bolt. Put a slight bend in them at the joint and hold one side... push the free side towards the fixed end... obviously its easy to make the distance between the to points smaller and the rod just bends at the joint. Now straight them out and try it's harder but still bends at the joint now put a one pc rod in with no joint and it can't bend very easily. Just putting a small bend even in a solid rod makes it flex way more then it would if it was straight. Not saying you gotta do it any way just saying a 3pc design is sloppy and flexy. But if it floats your boat and you get it to work for you all the more power to ya. You still come up with some outside thinking and I love watching your builds. Keep up the good work.
