im pretty sure the AE-2 ESC has a bec in it already.. but i could be wrong.. it was twitching and jumpy but then i put some new batteries in the radio (just changed them like a week ago and havent ran the truck all week) but the twitching and stuff stopped so that was pretty sweet..

well... i know we are never done but done to the point where i can stop modding for a while and just drive it.

no im not, but im pretty sure that the AE-2 esc has a BEC already but i could be wrong too..

didnt get any pics of my crawler but a friend did so we'll have to wait for those.. here's a couple pics i got of the days event.these are all ax10's.

this one is weird the rock was stacked and he was driving over them and this one followed him and landed pinned down the front end and stood there on its own.. you could have left it there all day with no problems!! he drove out of it and landed it too..

just gonna swap it out for my novak rooster. but the AE-2 will go into my honcho so if i have i'll just run an external BEC.

ya i found the 645mg weak too.. i went with the 7955 and love it. plenty of power, remember the bigger the servo the more juice its gonna need. like i said earlier the AE-2 does not like the 7955, you'll have to either add an external BEC or upgrade the ESC.

it was easier to swap out the whole battery plate then to try and peel off the AE2 off its plate.. so now gonna cut the tamiya plug off the novak rooster and wire it directly to the battery and add a new on/off switch because the last one crapped out on me... yay!!

a little heat on the back side of the bat plate will usualy make the glue soft so you can pull it off...

What do you mean by... remove the plug on the rooster & wire it directly to the battery???? How will you charge the battery?

before i was running an adaptor type deal with a white tamiya plug on one end and a red plug (the same plug thats on the 3racing winch) on the other end so i could run lipo but if i cut the white tamiya plug off of the red/black power wires coming off the ESC and solder on one of them red plugs so i can eliminate the adaptor. guess i should of worded it different. a friend did this to my AE-2 ESC but now that i swapped speed controllers im gonna do it to my novak rooster.

I use the mini deans connectors to wire the BEC onto my esc's... that way I can remove the bec easily... + they are supose to be very good conductors.

she's back together now did some testing in basement. i was playing on the lino floor with a box of drywall mud and got the front tires to grip and drive up then drive sideways until the rig is just about to tip then put that $134 servo to use and wiggle it and the rig tips over onto the sidewalls of 2 tires without flipping over then you can drive around haha... one of my front driveshaft set screws loosened so only had 2wd so add some more locktite and gonna let it set overnight so i will get some video tomorrow.... got a couple pics of the esc and steering i will get them on the laptop and post them in a few mins.

EDIT: here's some pics
steering on the other side of the servo. also had enough stainless tubing to do the drag link in stainless.

i cut the white tamiya plug off and added the same plug as my lipo's then covered them in shrinky dinky tube. before i was running an adaptor with a tamiya plug on one end and a red plug on the other.

novak rooster crawler ESC has found a home in this rig. hopefully no more damn amperage problems..

Nearly impossible to tell from the last two pics, but is that a JST-BEC (red) connector on the end of your LiPo? 'Cause I'd have to think if you had an amperage problem before, it wasn't so much your ESC as your puny battery wires and flimsy connector. That battery would make a killer receiver pack for something like an 1/8th scale nitro, but I'm surprised it even works as a main pack.

not sure what connector it is.. but these little 800 and 850mah batts i have put out lots of power.. i bought 5 of these batts off a friend they are 5-10years old and i still get like 10-15mins of run time out of each battery. 2 friends run these same batteries with no problems. im pretty sure the problem was the ESC because i have friends that run the exact some setup, same batts, same connectors, same batt charger, same ESC and radio and their truck works just fine with no problems.. i was the only one out of my group that ran a 2.4ghz system. now that im running my novak im running my DX3E radio and the 2.4ghz is now on the honcho.

all my friends and i try to run the same connectors so if one of us runs out of batteries we can borrow one and continue crawling. the batts are only a 2s but im running a 55t motor in this rig and my scaler.
