Yeah, I dont really want to buy all the various brands of chubs until I have sold enough to justify it. Perhaps I will down the road to just have that info up. Or maybe take a set to my LHS and test fit on the axials and HR chubs there. I dont think anyone else makes alum chubs besides axial, strc, HR, and vanquish. But I am not 100% on that.

Got my set in today. Decided to start on the rear axle first to cover what shaft & lockout combo will work since WK straight shafts are hard to come by. THAT & the pair of XR chubs I was gonna use grew feet and moved out.

Installing these are simple. Just like installing normal beef tubes, except you need to remove the chub flange.

Then fit the tubes and drill them. One hole on the face side, and one hole between the axle tabs. I suggest using zip ties to keep the case halves closed tight on the tubes. This will help ensure alignment of the tubes & cases when you drill.

Here's a complete rear axle. XR lockouts & 2 XR short side shafts are the ideal setup IMO. One side did need a shim, but otherwise it's spot on. Hex to hex is 8.25" with the thin SCX hex.

When I have time, I will try Wraith lockouts/shafts to see if other combos work. At this time, no AX & XR combo fits.

For those that ordered on batch 3, I am almost done with them. Should be done tonight.

I will probably be offering them for order directly off my site soon. Just didn't put them up due to the time it takes to make these, I didn't want to over sell them and have no time to make em.

More info can be found below. I will be also offering a couple other styles too. So keep an eye out

I am now open to orders. These will be put on my site soon so you can order whenever you like. All orders will be made to order. So that means that I do not stock pre-made ones, but make them when you order. So there will be some lead time. If time is a concern, please contact me to find out more info and I am sure we can work something out.

For now, PM me which style you want, and how many pairs.

I also added 2 more styles. See the below link for more info

I have looked at this a few times but have held off switching things up some because I am pretty committed to my dlux weights etc. Any ideas of a shaft that might work with these that would allow me to continue to use my ax10 chubs and vp knuckles with these tubes?

No, in order to use the universals, you have to convert to the XR10 stuff.

You could always use the non-splined version in the link below and just re-set your caster

For those that don't want to do the tubes themselves, I will now be offering them in a pre-modded housing. I can even install/include the chubs, knuckles, drag link, and universals so all you have to do is put in your R&P, and mount it up. See post 1 in the below link for more info

The main thing I like about these tubes is that it adds some width without having to run those darn wideners if you don't have special wheel hubs. I am running wide hubs rom the mayhem evo wheels but am trying to match my width of my berg. In order to match the width I still have to run the junfac wideners. I think these tubes would essentially do away with that. That being said however I am not wanting to run the universals and my axial cvd's probably are not wide enough to handle the width. That was what I was really asking about is how to run a wider axle shaft to make these work with conventional CVD's? I am guessing there is not an axle shaft that will work but figured it was worth the ask.

Not to my knowledge

What do you have against universals? They can turn much sharper and are much stronger...

I am sure the universals are way better but that involves your tubes, new chubs, new knuckles, universals, and another round of knuckle weights from dlux. If I could find a way to stick with my ax10 Cvd setup I can save a ton of money and use parts I'm happy with and order your tubes and some new inner shafts.

Is it possible that the universals will work with vp ax10 chubs and knuckles?
