Went to check out this thread, damn, all the pics are gone.

Host the pics here on RCC, and they never go away.

I can see them...nobody else can?

I bet it was that 5MB picture I accidentally put up in the tools section that knocked me over the limit. I deleted it, but Rockedup Ricky quoted it, so it's probably still killing my allowed monthly bandwidth.

edit:

Yeah, I just checked and I hit the 10GB limit for the month.

You see them because it is stored in your browser cache since you posted. Delete all of your cache and cookies, or log on from a machine that you have never used before and you will see what the rest of us see.

you have a star here, no reason you can host them here.

You can either attach them to a post, which means you cannot have text between them, or you can put them in an album and [img] code them like you do with photobucket.

I see the pics on this page, I didn't go into the 1st page. Ask Jason very nicely to do a step by step on the way to host pics directly to the site server, I'm sick of the pop-up crap on photobucket.

The steering worked much better tonight, but I only got to test it for 8 gates. I noticed both the front and rear shafts were starting to Candy Cane, but I thought they would last a bit longer. The front however had other plans:

Skidplate was there, and he actually had a great idea. He said that maybe filling it with epoxy before it broke might help strengthen it. If you have a set of these driveshafts, that might be some good preventative medicine.

I had offers to borrow parts to fix it, but I was up until 1:30 last night, so I was already pretty tired. I figured it was a good night to come home early, and check the carbonation in the keg and listen to some Ray Charles:

It will be two weeks before I can comp this again, so I should have new driveshafts and links before then.

I'm curious about the obsession with lowering the body. What's the reason?
To me one problem in crawling has been that the lower end of the body catch up with obstacles, so I want the low end pretty much as high as possible.
The body is light, so from a COG point of view I don't see it as an issue.

On the Drive shaft issue, Cutting a piece of 7/32 piano wire and gluing it in the spline shaft works good.

Yes the body is light, but it makes more than enough difference to make it worth the effort. Any time you can lower your COG (even just a little bit) with something as simple as lowering the body, you should take advantage of it.

As far as the bottom hanging up, that's another good reason to lower the body. You can curl the sides in (making sure you still stay legal) to help cover things like the chassis and even parts of the links.

Another reason is when you have to squeeze into tight spots. Having a body sticking up high can cause problems with it catching on lower hanging obstacles.

Another great idea! I was briefly thinking of beefing up the rear just to see how long it would last, but since I have a full set of MIP's laying around (as well as a set of Junfac's), I'll probably just swap everything.
