Also got a little color to the chassis. Tweaked the skid with some measurements and changes and happy with printed version2. Widened the chassis out to 65mm so the printed spacers add flare and functionality. Hoping for steering and drive line this week ........... If the heat doesnt melt me first. |

Why are you building a monster truck? El pinko rides at 2 1/2" at the leading edge of the skid. I realize, portals but damnit boy!

Here in New England we dont have those gradual well rounded off sand paper rocks to climb around on. Our shards of glass and boulders tend to land us a bit high centered at times. Never said it was gonna work But Im having fun building it |

Most of what we run on locally is crumbling and decomposing granite. I wish we had Prescott style monolithic rock, that do be rad! I dig the weight setup, makes me want to look at adapting traxxas brass boxes to an ar44. You know I gots to have the knuckle weight bandaid! Last edited by WHITE-TRASH; 07-09-2018 at 02:30 PM. |

| Re: 2.2S Robbob's new direction I have weighted portals on the drawing board. How much weight do you want? Right now they are set up for 6 .375" tungsten weights, if you need more than that I might look into having the covers machined from brass...

| Re: 2.2S Robbob's new direction Just to put things into perspective my pro and sporty both currently have 7.75 oz of brass and tungsten bolted to the knuckles. So yea, brass covers would be handy. |

Didnt think about going with more slugs, brainwashed to think below wheel center. Forgetting that Im already below 'axle' center though.

Thanks bud - im getting into the rearranging and tuning times of it now so the gremlins are coming out. Would love those lol, for now the only metals I cut are soft ones. Still have a lot to learn about metals and not having coolant keeps me on simple things.

Been wrenching on this thing pretty consistently for the past week. Made some changes that had me feeling like they were going backwards. BUT turned it around the other day with some veteran conversations, google and a couple geometry changes. Got a new front plate drawn up for straighter upper links and changed the skid up a bit while adding angled link mounts. I uploaded the angled skids to shapeways, theres an AX one and a blank one for self drilling tranny holes. I ordered Dravtechs rear upper link mount to try. I did put it on but it escalated my problems at the time so I took it off. Im gonna try it again now that the truck is responding how I want it too. More information for the note book in my head. Couple of pictures for now to show some differences. Ill shoot some real ones this week and some real rock time once the rain stops. Also sneak shot of the 3 exclusive chassis's I made for this years Championship (Nats) in the next couple weeks. A mix of CF with some 7075 for like a sweet and salty mix. Vegas is giving 23:1 odds now on that rig working so keep it up. The odds are improving with each update. That chassis is stylin' in black & 7075 for sure! I like the skid. You shoulda said something sooner just picked up that looks almost identical from someone else. |

They look sick in person, kicking myself for making them exclusive to the Nats/Championship but well worth the event. Ya I knew the other one was out there. Its always been on the to do list but we know how those things go. Just finally getting around to it lol. Got some days off the end of the week so if weather holds up I shouldhave some video of it down at my local practice spot. Just gotta do body mounts tonight for it and seal a couple small things up.
