My wife got me one of these for Christmas so I’m anxious to see who does what to theirs.

Mines arrived, I must say it’s a pretty impressive little truck on first impressions

Totally agree. Just climbing on random stuff around the house as it comes out of the box, I was more than impressed. When I picked the rig up in my hand for the first time I felt like the truck “felt” really light and toyish. The fact that a box stock 1/10 scale Capra before adding any weight is pretty heavy, made it feel even lighter. I do plan to give this mini Capra some upgrading starting with wheels and tires soon. Eventually motor/esc upgrade, likely the Furitek system for this rig, and servo at some point as well. No hurries though. There’s definitely a ton of potential here.

I’ve got a set wheels and tyres sorted and the axial alloy links. I’m interested to see what John Holmes comes up with in the way of electronics before I commit to upgrading the motor/esc. The servo seems decent enough for now and the lighting is really good, the light bar might even be a over the top lol

Curb Crawler, that looks great! I forgot about the links so gonna order those today. Going with 1.9 Chinesium Wang Chung beadlocks and JConcepts class 1 Tusks which are 100mm, so only 7-8mm bigger than the stock tires. Was gonna go with 4.19 tires but thought they looked a bit too big for the rig. Gonna leave the electronics for a little bit but eventually leaning towards the Furitek system. I have a Holmes Crawlmaster V2 esc in one of my other trucks with a Revolver motor but have been debating putting a different setup in there, which could free up the esc for the mini Capra and maybe go with the Holmes 380V2 Revolver but not in a big hurry to make that decision. Gonna pen spring mod the shocks to bring the cog down a little and see what upgraded shocks people start using.

Thanks! Everyone is raving about Dlux Fab shocks, they make a direct bolt on set with the correct rate springs and width pivot balls, they aren’t cheap tho, Ive got a set on the way though….

Also I want to use my NB4 with it at some point soon, so I’ll pick up HW 1080 and match it with the stock motor for now.

Thanks for the link for those shocks. 100 bucks isn’t cheap, but I’d rather pay that and have them sized and tuned already for the rig than buying a bunch of unnecessary stuff searching for the right tune.

Needs some work for UK conditions, but still good fun, definitely needs some weight upfront, the suspension needs dropping and OD gears in the front axles would all help. I’ve ordered a few bits to hopefully cover all this

Injora brass parts to help lower the COG and get some more weight forward

I’ve also got a set overdrive gears on the way

Dlux fab mini Dravtechs arrived

I drilled out the pistons to 1.5mm and used 10wt oil, they feel awesome, also fitted the Injora parts, I’m really impressed with the fit and finish, they are excellent value for money at about £20 vs the £65 for the Axial versions

Nice Capra I have a 1/18 Capra Fox graphics coming from AMain. I bought some ProLine Hyrax Class 1 tires for this. Since this size Capra is so new it is hard to figure out what wheels and tires are good. I see a few with 1.9 wheels and 4.7 tires and it is too big. Then I see the Class 0 tires and class 1 tires on 1.9 wheels. I think the 1.9 wheel looks too big with a Class 1 tire. The wheel height is fine at 4" but its the wheel/beadlock just looks too big for the rig. That is my opining, others will vary. There are 1.7 wheels and tire as well, but I don't see any on this size Capra right now. Then I see your Capra with the 1.5 tire/wheel combo, and I like it.

I was watching John Holmes vid and he was running his 1/18 and commented on it needing a taller tire, and I would assume a class 1. The stock tire I believe is a 1.5 tire. So, I trying to find a sweet spot for tire/wheel combo.

And not to jump ahead but I was looking at his 380 motor, mmmmm nice! I think it is like $40.00 which sounds like a decent price. but he has is micro crawler ESC at $100.00 for 3S. I don't know if there is a cheaper motor/ESC out there. One has to figure how much he wants to spend.

For now, I am going to run this box stock, and see in time what other people are doing to their 1/18 Capras.

Yeah, I think they look odd with 1.9’s, mine are the same size as stock but with slightly taller tyres, 3.6” vs 3.85”

I seen Matt over at SBG has this Capra and he has the Class 1 Hyrax with 1.9 Incision's plastic beadlocks. That is where I got the idea from, but the tire/wheel combo just don't look right to me. I had intentions on buying some amazon 1.9 beadlocks and mounting my Hyrax Class 1's. Now I think I am going to return the Class 1 tires...

Curb Crawler, those shocks look sweet!!! I’m definitely picking those up soon!

As far as wheels/tires I’m getting the 1.9 JConcepts Tusks (100mm/3.93”) and 1.9 beadlocks. To try to avoid having the beadlocks look too big I’m looking for a set with black rings. Even with silver screws I think the black rings will help the appearance. I already have a Holmes Crawlmaster Mini V2 in my Gmade BOM with a Revolver motor, but not sure if I’m going to keep it in there so I can repurpose the esc with a 380 Revolver in the Mini Cap, but I’m still considering the Furitek system as well. Either way, a external BEC or direct powered servo would be a smart choice.

I previously saw a replacement all metal gear set for the transmission but don’t recall where I saw it so if anyone has seen these can you help me out with locating them? Much gratitude! If I go with the Holmes 380 Revolver I’d like to upgrade those and the front CVD shafts with universals. Sure we’ll see these with several aftermarket companies soon.

King I just did a quick Google search for the 1/18 Capra metal trans gears. Ebay has them but they come from China. So, they won't be at your door in a few days if you were to order them. Check them out

Thank you! I saw those but they were priced at $200+ last time I looked but appears that that pricing error has been fixed. Lol
