Cool build! I like how you made your own flatbed. Nice skills

Since everyone here seems to realy like the Unimog I would like to share mine as well (I know it's not a scx-10 but it's still a Unimog!)

Tamiya CC-01 Jeep Wrangler converted to a Unimog.

Killer rig! Maybe I missed it, what are you using for the axle truss on the rear axle?

Cool Mog! I thought about doing something like that but it evolved to what I have.

Nice looking rigs you got there. I have some questions for you. 1 how many turns is you motor. 2. What size battery is and what kind of run times do you get? 3. How did you setup your rear shocks like that? Thanks Scott

I'm running a 35t Tekin Pro motor, 3s Maxamps Lipo either 850 45c or I have a 1350 I run sometimes too. It depends on how I'm driving but I still get around 45 minute run times with the 850. I'm not just flooring it and beating on it.

With the rear shock I just bolted the cross member on out of aluminum angle and used the same angle to make the little tabs to mount the lower shock points to. It was pretty easy really.

Well I had nearly given up on the Unimog. I just couldn't get it to feel stable and it would not bump up hardly anything. After a trail run at the last UTRCRC scale comp I had given up. The problem I figured came down to rear suspension setup. With the angles it was set up at articulation was floppy feeling even with the stiffest spring Axial offers on the left and the second to stiffest on the left. But even with it that soft if you tried to just press the rear axle straight up it would barely move it was so stiff.

After shooting some ideas back and for with PinchFlat the idea came. I grabbed a pair of Tamiya touring car shocks and buggy springs from a Team Associated set. I had to drill a couple holes in the chassis but it worked perfectly I lost just a hair of articulation and it dropped the rear of it a couple mm but it worked perfectly After some testing I couldn't be happier. It bumps as good as anything I've ever had is way more stable. It looks like I can stop panicking about building something new for Montana.

I am glad to see it worked out. It's still one cool Unimog

Thanks and believe me, I'm very happy at the moment. I was kind of freaking out about what to do for Montana. I still have another build I'd like to do. Something with a bit shorter wheelbase and 1.55's and I have a KOH Bronco in mind too

Did you say Bronco!!!!!!!!!! . That is what I am working on but I am making a mold of the body so I can make the panels out of Carbon fiber. As soon as I have the hole body made I will send you some pics.

Yes I did I made this a while ago and regret letting go of it.

I actually have possibly 2 Broncos on the works. One that is more of a true KOH rig and one that is a street legal modded Bronco.

It'll be cool to see what you come up with.

I love the direction you have shown us with these rigs.

Scale will always have a spot in my shop, and rigs like this keep me motivated to have them perform as well as they look.

Something I wouldn't have imagined years ago.
