| Diesel's 1.9 SCX/Scout build.
a few weeks ago i picked up an SCX10 kit. i haven't bothered with a build thread til now because pics of a stock SCX roller are ****in boring. im building a boat sided and comp cut trail scout, hopefully it ends up like the kinda cool ass rigs you see in build threads on pirate4x4. so in addition to the stock SCX kit ive added a hand bros CMS steering kit, an R2J 4 link truss and my own 5/16" delrin rear links to stretch the WB 1/2". tuesday night Devvon and i made the boatside plates. they're just .025 steel, TIG'd to the chassis. today i made front and rear bumpers and got them mounted. both of them are just kinda something i whipped up. the front was a mistake that turned out pretty well actually. and for the rear, i just ran out of ideas, wasted a lot of tube and stuck it on there. it'll do. im liking it so far. i might cut the fenders out more and run 1.9 rok lox on it. the 'irons look a little small. and i might shrink the WB back down by 1/4". but then again the bigger tires will make it look better at the current length. |

I like the stretch, looks nice. That front bumper is also becoming popular. |

I know it is, like I said, it was actually a mistake and to avoid wasting a lot of tube I just went with it. Thanks guys.

Oh, forgot to mention, its also got an interior. Just one of the axial cf-100 interior kits, nothing fancy. That's about all the patience I have for doing interior work.

Thanks man, I wish you were too. I'm really considering half doors. Since its got an interior, half doors would be cool. They'd look right at home on this truck too. And I've got lights in the works too, maybe even a light bar on the roof.

Wow! What a great unique look Diesel! I love the boatsides, the shorter doors, and the comp cut. Great looking machine. |

ok, unfortunately the mayhems i have coming in the mail are gonna set the rig too wide for my liking.. (ill find something else to do with the mayhems, dont worry) so i'm trying to decide between these two wheels. 0mm offset hpi stock car wheels and the others are tamiya f-150 wheels. i kinda like how the hpi wheels look with the rings and they tuck into the body better as well. both pictured with custom made rock rings on them. thoughts? |

Those are some good looking rings. I think I like the stock car wheels with them better. Build's coming along nicely. |

I heard he had to quit. His best customer got sponsored. You almost have to do the stock car wheels or,at least paint the others black. | |
