It's calico basin. Just east of red rock. Better rock, more accessible and free to get into.

ok so ive been working on the scout the last day or two, i cut the roof, tailgate and grille off the body and started building a cage for it. so far i like the way it looks, i plan to make a few changes but nothing major. i'm out of tubing so i thought i'd take some pics and post them up.

dovetail...

that upper hoop is gonna get cut, im not liking how it comes all the way to the back of the rig. gonna make it stop about half way of where it is now.

Love the look of the front with the tubes going through the grill.
That's a shitload of dovetail in the back. Should make it look very buggy-ish, is that what you are going for?

i spent all day in the garage today, didn't dust the house, sweep the floor, or do dishes like i was supposed to, but i got a lot of tube work done!

im pretty sure the cage is done, i got the body mounted as well. gotta get it sandblasted soon so i can paint it. then i guess ill need an interior, dammit.. i think ill just try to find an axial dingo body or proline CGR body. i almost hate to put the scout body back on it, im proud of my work. its not really shown in the pics but i kept the rear end a little wider than i originally planned, glad i did, looks good IMO. thanks grizz!

paint the inside with a flat or satin base clear then do your color and it might still look a little shinny depinding on the color you choose and if it dose go over the outside with a satin clear coat

That rig is really looking great. Where the bar work comes thru the grill it looks like the Scout is eating the frame.

i added a little more tubing and 3mm nuts to it today, might do a little more tomorrow then sandblast and paint it thursday. i went ahead and threw the suspension/axles on it to see it as a roller. i like how its looking now. its sitting too tall now because there's no weight on the chassis right now. im also considering some different tires for this rig, we'll see.

thoughts?

got a little more work done today, pulled the axles back off of it and brazed on a few more 3mm nuts and some grab handles made of 1/8" solid rod. gonna sandblast and paint it tonight hopefully.

Fawking tits Scott!! That's just enough dovetail on the back end to make it look hardcore but not so much that it loses the feel of the Scout.

Can you push the front axle forward a bit? With the rear stretched so much it looks a bit unbalanced, nose heavy if you will.

ive been thinking the same thing, especially with the shock angle up front, how they lean slightly forward. im gonna see what i can do about it. being that its got the hand bros kit on it im not entirely sure how im gonna pull it off yet. and ill have to lose a little more fender.
