2.2's kick butt.. I'm running losi claws on rockstars with Venom lock rings and my honcho crawls like a ax10.. Makes it a wicked trail truck.. Notice I said "Trail Truck" not "scale truck". For me it's all about fun more than actual real life looks. Sent from my highly abused iPhone using Tapatalk |

I like the 2.2's on mine,but I did pick up a 2nd SCX-10 and I run 1.9's on it. Here's the build thread for my 2.2 rig....Cave Dave's SCX Honcho |

| Re: running 2.2 tires on a scx10 yes it does alot for performance i ran mine with 1.9 for about 10 mins when i got it then put my 2.2 rovers on and i think i swapped back once or twice when i was board but the difference is huge i also run losi 4in shocks for more clearance and suspension travel. But since then i got the dinky summit cradle and summit trans so with that loss of gc i don't think i can go 1.9 again. Also there is a big difference in speed from the size of the tire unless you change your gearing.

2.2's are fine and I run them occasionally for the bigger rock, but....most events will only allow a "Scale" 2.2 tire, Ripsaws, Swampers, Pitbulls.. They wont allow a Rover, Rock Claw, Hammers, etc on your "Scale truck." |

My proline hammers are scale...they are like 49 inch tires!! Oh well I think they look ok and make the truck more trail/rock ready. Just be ready to do some trimming. Maybe some pics later?

i am not a fan of the look of 2.2 tires on a scale truck they tend to be to wide also if the size is all you are worried about use some 1.9 put bulls or rc4wd Mickey Thompson ttc tires. they will have the size most 2.2's have and the look they don't.

My rig looks more scale w 2.2's 1.9 wheels look way to small for it. When I was running a shorter wheelbase, 2.2 Mud Slingers were perfect. I actually bought the larger ProLine Slash bug body yesterday, it should fit the new longer wb and Pitbull tires even better. |

I've done the 1.9 to 2.2, 1.9 to 2.2 thing. After experimenting ,I think the 1.9's, due to less un-sprung weight and just plain less mass do better actually than 2.2's on a SCX anyways. Rok-Lox in a 1.9 measure as tall as a lot of 2.2's but weight less, yes, the contact-patch is less but at least they look scale. Using a 1/8th scale tire on a 10th scale makes it easy. It takes skill to do what a 2.2 rig will do on 1.9's. Last edited by ridepate; 02-05-2012 at 05:55 PM. |

Went the 2.2 tsl and tcs extenders to widen the stance. 6oz in the front and 3oz in the back. Best setup I have ever ran. Wide tall and planted! |

So can you guys list off some 1.9's that LOOK like 2.2's? Im gonna stick to 1.9's but i want a bigger tire than the ripsaws.

the only problem I see with my pitbulls 2.2 is that the body will rub all over...I will have to hack it down a bit and then it wont look as scale...i'm trying to figure out a way to fit a cab in front and the honcho cage in the back! and I just got a twin motor plate from 3 level...that baby will have tork!
