Well I think I'm done with this truck in time for Scale Championships! I will say i'm not 100% satisfied, maybe only like 75% happy with the outcome so far. But being rushed pays it price sometimes and I simply ran out of time. After the event, some things will be changed, and things will be removed or added, but none the less. It still looks halfway decent I started last night out by getting the wiring squared away. I'd ideally like the tekin and bec in another location, but I ran out of ideas and this fits for now. I will be running some 1300mah 3s packs which should be fine and they fit! As you can see, I kinda have wires going everywhere. I have a plug for the front and rear leds as well. I'll get them covered up next go around. Winch setup complete with heyok controller and new fairlead. Then, onto the body! I was going to leave it as it sat, but in need of some scale points I added wheel wells, tool box with tools, antennae and spare tire. Here's the back As you can see, our box fits tools nicely! Then the very lame last minute antennae And in a desperate sprint, some shotty wheel wells. These will be removed after the comp for sure! The iroks I had are to large for Class 1. So I plan to run these next to free tires I picked up for class 1. They kill the appearance IMO but o'well. Looks pretty good in the dark! |

Well I should have spent alittle more time on this rig before NSC. It did surprisingly well, but I did have some issues. Because I had no drive time my first C1 course I found out my rig had so much steering the steering knuckle was going past the axle and locking, so I was unable to finish. I did fix it. I followed the next course with a -19 which I was happy with. The only thing it could really use is a better winch. I knew the 3racing winch wasn't enough, but I was in a pinch. For class 2 I borrowed some 1.9 pitbulls which rubbed everywhere they could rub. After tightening the slipper the brood motor decided the stock front trans output was no longer needed and ripped it right off. After barely winching through another gate for progress the rear went with it. The truck for sure needs some tweaking, but overall I was shocked at what it could do for no tuning being done. I can't wait to get the trans fixed, adjust some issues and get back on the rocks! |

Hey Will your old Hilux is coming to Phoenix. I'll be getting the little truck dialed in for the second half of our season as my new C1 rig. I'll be making a few minor changes and maybe adding a rear roll cage. I already have a fully built tranny, drive shafts, KMS Winch and all the other necessary electronics to put it on the rocks. Not sure if it has an interior or not so I'll address that when it arrives. Looking forward to having a Hilux again. |

Just ordered the original Hilux clear windows, Interior and Gear Head chrome interior and detail set from RPP for the truck. Tracking says the truck will be here on Saturday so I should be able to get right to it. |

Well the truck arrived today and is in need of a lot of work. There were some really crudely made leaf mounts for the Yota axles and most of the holes were so far off you couldn't put all the screws in. Also the original RCBros shackles are stripped out and one of the spacers on the shackle was cut in half, not by Will but I'm assuming by the last owner. Thankfully the body wasn't damaged in the shoe box it got delivered in. I've already started tearing it down and am going to see what I can do to get the springs mounted up proper over the next couple days. |
