I'm running a Tekin 45 turn motor and may swap it out for a 35 turn out of one of my other rigs but I may try a different pinion first. It doesn't have the wheel speed I want. Other than that I'm pretty happy. It's nice not to have to remove the body each time I need a battery change.
3s will really help rather than re-gear or different motor.

I've never used a 3 cell. My esc is capable, I will have to take my new battery box to the lhs and see if I can find one to fit. Thanks Natedog for the idea.

I run the small 1350 mah 3s bats....they fit in the box just right. You'll like the 3s, and probably never look back...

OK when I get back from the country on Tuesday I'll give one a try. Is the run time on a 1350 3 cell about the same as lets say a 1600 2 cell?

I took your advice and picked up a three cell today. It's like I gained 50 HP. Thank you.

Wow, what a difference. Thanks my friend. My box lid keeps coming open, do you tape yours? (I know, stay off of my lid)

I get about the same with 45T geared 20/87 1300mah 3s1p lipo and it crawls much better than with the big lipos.

@Raceeng18, glad you like the 3s. More HP and wheelspeed really make crawling fun! It can still creep with the best, but when you need the wheelspeed to make an obstacle it's right there.

Small neodymium magnets? They work great, very strong, tiny, and cheap. ShoeGoo one to the lid and one to the box, they will hold except maybe on really hard roll, I use the Axial straps and some industrial velcro from Home Depot, about $10 for big roll 2" wide. Stick a peice on every battery and the hook part on your battery mounting spot, using Axial battery strap for extra insurance.

Thank you for the compliment Erbing, it's a fun truck. I finally got it on some loose dirt today with some steep climbs and it did OK. Shocks need to be changed and some forward wheel weight may be in order also.

I used Axial 6x91 links and made adjustments (upper) as needed for pumpkin angle.

Hey good man...I wouldn't know that for sure as she's not been on the rocks just yet. You might try a little bit of something sticky to make it harder to open and close.

I have been in the hospital for the last couple of weeks. Just got home today. Had pneumonia and a bleeding ulcer. They tell me older people aren't meant to survive pneumonia....guess I'm younger that it shows

I'm on the mend, but it might take a month or so...

I've decided to go in a different direction with this build. As much as I like my Yota's, I like my big FORDS better. I didn't have a Ford in my fleet of rigs so I thought I'd add one. The Ford cab is a little shorter than my Mojave cab and it has now allowed my new battery box to be opened fully giving me better access to the battery. I haven't decided on a color yet, I don't know if I'll keep the tinted glass either, the clear glass is on the way for trial.

Thanks Greg, going to look for another red, maybe yellow. I like the color on my Jeep, but want to go with something different from what I already have.
