OK, I have another update:

Tekin has released another update to their Hotwire application so now I can use my mini Google tablet. I made some more changes to the RS Gen2 settings.

This is the way my electronics sit until I get my new winch controller and install lighting.

One more picture. I really like the location of the on-off switch.

I took an Exacto knife and very lightly cut away the over spray wrapping to expose the fenders.

Just in case, I masked it even though the over spray wrapping should be OK. I didn't want any paint to seep under the plastic wrapping.

Painted the fenders flat black.

And here's the way they came out.

Next painting the body.

To be continued ...

Nice, that's how I paint exterior parts of bodies as well, the overspray mask works great even without the tape!

How are you liking the HotWire Android App?

Thank you Ty. I like the new Hotwire Android release because now I can use my phone or tablet.

I'm still learning how to fine tune my ride. I think I have too much drag brake because when I release the throttle the rear end lifts up a little.

I also noticed an issue with the reverse strength. I have a Futaba 4PL so I have to reverse the throttle on the radio or the ESC. If I set the reverse on the ESC and set the reverse strength to 25, my forward speed is reduced.

So I set reverse on the radio and normal on the ESC and now my reverse strength seems to be working at a reduced speed.

I plan on searching this forum and Tekin RS GEn2 Forum to learn more. The Hotwire Android App sure makes it easy to tweak the ESC settings. Now I just have to learn about all the adjustable capabilities.

Is your ESC calibrated to the radio the right direction? When you pull throttle you should see the LEDs light up from left (MODE) to right (INCR). From what you're describing the ESC may be running in reverse.

It's normal on Futabas to have to reverse the throttle channel, then calibrate the RS2. It looks for specific signals and will only calibrate one way.

Thank you for the information. I will look into it tonight and recalibrate it.

Sounds good, I'll be on the forums all weekend when I can, so let me know. Then your reverse strength should start working properly.

What do you have drag brake set to? I'm normally in the 30-35 range and never try to get my rigs to hold on the hills. I have something in the works for a new braking feature though, hopefully we can get it released soon!

Thank you. Going to recalibrate and make some adjustments tonight. Then I'll go to Vasquez Rocks Saturday morning for some testing.

I was trying to get it (my City Slicker Jeep) to hold on the hills. So I stated with the max drag brake setting. I figured I'll work down from there. Only one way to go from there. Should simplify things.

I'll look forward to seeing your new braking feature. Thanks again.

Thank you. I enjoy building and trying different things. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't.

Thank you for subbing.

The work you do on your trucks makes me wish I was back in the day when I could really work and machine parts for my stuff. But oh well I get a long ok now I guess. I can still do a little every now and then. It beats not being able to do anything like it was when I first became disabled...That sucked....LOL Keep up the great work my friend....

I got some stickers on.

A few pictures with the cage. I didn't screw the cage on. I just placed it on top.

I feel like it's all downhill from here. To be continued ...

I installed a gun rack. I always wanted to have a gun rack on one of my Jeeps. I made a small extension so the gun rack will sit at the right height. Used a clamp to hold it while the Shoe Goo sets.

I installed a Remington Model 700, 30'06 Mountain Rifle and a Remington Model 700 Special Purpose Synthetic Tactical (SPST) rifle in 30'06 also.

I was going to install a Remington 870 for any upland game opportunities, but that would be fruitless without a good bird dog.

I can't think about upland game or bird dogs without thinking of my little hunting buddy, aka Chip. So in memory of Chip, here are a few pictures of my little hunting buddy.

One last photo of a calendar Chip came out in.
