| Re: Scx10 Deadbolt. Digital servos update their position about 300 times per second whereas analog servos update only 50. This results in a much tighter hold of the servo arm and generally quicker, stronger, and more accurate response. The only downsides are that they draw more power and might not be *quite* as reliable since they can send more abrupt inputs to the servo motor more often.

I use a 5000mh 2s so would I need a BEC as it says the servo is 6v?any others around that spec and price that you can recommend? Well that clears up the digi v analog question, last time I brought a servo they were all analog lol. |

The bec in the esc is a little weak and can fail if pushed to hard by a power hungry servo. Have you considered a Traxxas 2075 waterproof servo? They are not crazy powerful but they are pretty reliable and they are cheap to replace/repair. |

There is also some stuff called corrosionx you can use to waterproof electronics. You can combine it with grease/silicone like you did before and waterproof any servo. Google it and see what you think there are always risks when waterproofing electronics. |

Went for the savox in the end, seemed good for the price. Whats a good BEC to use baring in mind we dont seem to have as good a selection as the USA over here in the UK? What would happen if the BEC in the esc fails?is it game over for the esc?!does it show signs of failing first or is it a case of plug in the servo and it fails? Think im probably going to get some plastidip and give it a couple of dips just to add more protection, along with marine grease on the gears and around the inside of the output shaft which is clearly where the water got in! |

Castle creations bec is cheap and works great. On the esc I had that the bec failed the esc just shut off and wouldn't work again. I would rrun a bec if you do much actual crawling. A Power hungry servo trying to force the wheels to turn when wedged against a rock can draw a lot of power. |

Took my truck out yesterday (stayed away from any water tho lol), running fine servo is perfect for my needs its quite noisy tho. Just gotta get some plasti dip to do the servo (looks pretty waterproof inside the case but want to make sure) and BEC.

Heres a pic of the new layout: New savox at the front, BEC on the Rx box, Rx and ESC mounted on metal plate with a little block of weights mounted at the rear. Everything is as low as possible to improve COG. |

PlastiDipped my new servo and BEC: And the bonnet lol: Brushed the bonnet so there is brush marks but I think it looks reasonable...................like someones painted it with hammerite in their garage lol. Will be ineresting to see how it holds up,if it lasts ok I might get some nato green spray and do the rest. |

Made some brackets to lift the rock sliders up above the chassis rail to gain abit of clearance under them. Sliders are now almost at the top of the rim. Theres my silver 1:1 4x4 in the background and as you can see its raining here in the uk Not the best picture......I can take more if anyone wants me to. |

Im still running stock tires and foams and due (I think) to the amount of water my truck has seen the foams are collapsing (I think, tires are even more squidgy and will deform to the rim on a sharp edge), sooooo as I cant afford to replace atm ive taped over the air holes in the rim.............what an improvement its made!!!!!cant say ive seen this mentioned so thought id share for anyone else in my situation.plus water wont get in.
