Just because you have the same esc and yours works, doesn't mean that there isn't a problem with his.

As I mentioned in the above post, could be esc issue, motor crapping out or a binding issue somewhere.

Well guys like I said, I was doing the paper trick when setting the mesh. Turns out the I need to double up regular 24# printer paper. I was setting the mesh way to tight. I doubled the paper, there is now a tiny bit of play between the spur and pinion, and the motor sounds so much better when spinning. I have only tested it in my shop, but i can already tell that it sounds like it is not struggling to spin. Hopefully I didn't kill that motor. High hopes right now. I'll learn my self how to check the brushes. Very excited. Thank you all. IS it possible to replace the brushes on a integy 35turn?

Yes you can replace the brushes. But to do the job right, you really need a lathe to cut the comm. If you don't want to go that route, you can chuck the rotor in a drill press or hand-held, spin it up and just touch the comm with a piece of emery cloth or fine sandpaper. That will polish the comm and make it clean and bright again. But without the use of a lathe, the comm will still be out of round to a degree. Back in the day (late '80's) racing 2wd buggies, lathing the comm was critical. How critical is it for crawling/trailing speeds...I don't know. See, if the comm is not perfectly round, during high rpm's the brushes will bounce off the comm as it spins, resulting in poor performance and low brush life. I've been running brushed in my rigs for a few years, but really would like to go brushless. I'm actually doing some waterproof testing of a sensored BL motor I had laying around. If I can get it just right, then I'll drop the big bucks on a BL system.

Glad to hear you got it sorted Mesh is a finicky thing when first learning, after a few attempts you wont even be using paper. You will notice the truck is a lot quieter now with the mesh set correctly and will seem more torquey and more free.

Yes you can buy replacement brushes, cleaning brushes/sticks etc or if you are not competent RCC vendors like Holmes Hobbies offer a rebuild service for like $12.

I would suggest looking at the commutator if you have run it exceptionally hot.

All the best
