| First dibbbs Deadbolt SCX10 (thoughts/reveiw)
Ok so our local club has been building a whole bunch of trials at a local rc shop...my girl friend has always came out to lend a hand...well shes been putting some hard work for over a month watching my buddies and i crawl all over...well i wasnt impressed with the size of the ax10 deadbolt...so once i seen the scx10 deadbolt with the lime green body..i knew she'd love it... well went to shoot a commercial featuring our crawlers and BAM! the Owner tells me it just came in today...so naturally i handed him my debit card! My first thought was how long this is i extended my honchos front end a bit and this deadbolt matches... Tires arent too bad either...kinda hard...but i feel the 4.7 in. tires make up for it thats my proline XLs next to the deadbolt Treps Servo wasnt too bad...it turns lock to lock on carpet..where my old stock honcho would NOT Esc....easy to set up...havent popped a 3s in it yet its fairly light in weight....i DONT plan on modifying it right away...i wanna see the long term wear and tear on it... not a fan of the 3 link front and rear axles...or the stock plastic links all together lol we will see how they hold up! overall its a very nice looking rig...ive got no clue why Axial wouldnt have plopped this on a SCX10 chassis to begin with! heres some pics...enjoy! More pics to come...im sure she will LOVE to go hit some trials now |

I applaud you! Investing time AND money in your relationship will make it grow stronger and you WILL be rewarded. Her buggy looks good right out of the box, and you are right about the Jeep body thing, but the new SCX is very original, don't change a thing. But if you do make upgrades, let her decide what she wants, there is pride in ownership and being original, that's what I love most about this hobby, and she will too.

Very cool! After running this past weekend with a guys box stock Rubicon and watching the front tires go crosseyed constantly as well as watching the tire tuck up AND forwards into the body, Axial should have included aluminum steering and at least lowers. Yum. . . spaghetti |

Nice, glad to hear! I ordered the SCX10 Deadbolt yesterday (along with a steering upgrade kit ), hopefully should be here for this weekend. It'll be my first crawler, looking forward to taking it out on some trails.

https://www.facebook.com/?q=#/profil...0529&ref=br_tf A steering upgrade will most likely be the first upgrade...but i told her they will save her servo in the long run....im still skeptical about the "new" servo they put in there...if i upgrade it ill get her links and the savox waterproof...all in time though... im expecting to be trailing all around this weekend...the weathers suppose to be great! I do agree about letting her upgrade it....ill see what she dislikes and adjust things accordingly | |

I think the steering upgrade is really the only thing they need, just for better enjoyment. Other than that, run it til it breaks, upgrade!

First Red Flag.....for axial to fit the large 32 pitch pinion they had to put spacers in between the motor and the motor plate....which leaves 1/8 inch gap...well small rocks love to get in and the larger gear teeth love to pick them up.... a little silicone packed in the gap oughta work.... other than that....i wanna move the battery to the front and this rig will be great! |

Nice score on the Deadbolt, I like the SCX version much better. I was looking at one of these too, but opted for the new Falken edition Recon G6. Might pick up one of these Deadbolts for my wife though. |

So my wifes desdbolt arrived last friday. layed with it alittle bit. I'm kinda regreting not getting an rtr with the ae2 esc... the ae4 has a linear throttle response which I guess im not used to. It feels like my old rc cars and trucks.. the ae2 and tge castle link are nice in that you can adjust the throttle curve and make the throttle feel more relaxed..kind of a nit picky thing I guess. The drag brake works good. 50% seems like nothing and 100% is definitely 100%. the on off switch is located on top of the controler box so u cant reach it without really jaming your finger s under the body...thats not a great place for it. the steering servo arm thing hits the cross memeber of the chassis so u loose like 40-50% of the suspension travel.... its worst when the steering is at max. ill have the change this. I dont kniw if my wranger had this interference issue bc I changed rhe link lenghts before I even played with it. |

The cure for the servo arm hitting the crossmember is to trim the crossmember with a dremmel.

Yeah...theres a few bugs...but like what was said earlier...ima let her tell me what needs changed...i agree that letting her call the shots will increase the sense of ownership....im hoping she will really get into it... we went to the state park to rent some boats...she was all for doing walking trails with the crawlers!...found some water run off with some cement mud...this mud stopped my 55 TURN IN ITS TRACKS!!! ive never had that happen before! crazy! baffled me to be honest... she got to tug me out ALSO! ALL THE HILL CLIMBING AND MUD BOGGING....NO CLICKING! THE SILICONE WORKED! |

Dude...what was done on that Dingo body? It looks weathered, very cool, my favorite of the three. |
